Pup question

I've got a nine month old pup. Grand pup of Trackman. I posted a "what will he turn out like" post for people to guess what he'd do. This is an update and a question for y'all. He's treeing coon with my old female. He gets deep with her. I also been hunting him by himself for short hunts. He gets a hundred or so yards out by himself. He's got a huge mouth. He smoked a bobcat that crossed the road on us while roading. He didn't see it cross, but struck and smoked, and treed twice, but it kept bailing, and I had to catch him up so I could go to work! Anyway, the John wick book says I shouldn't be hunting him yet, but he flips his wig when you drop the tailgate, so its hard to leave him home! Should I keep hunting him a lot, or should I lay him up a week or two to give him a break?

Hunt him ! John Wick says 1 yr ...we start ours @ 6 months . Not taking anything away from Wick but it's one thing I don't agree on if - done right they can be started @ night pretty young. If it's mine by a year old if I raised it & trained it it better be treeing it's own coon by a year old or it's gone so far I've had a few I didn't like everything about & sold a few shouldn't have but in all these years have never had one that wasn't treeing it's own coon by 12mo. I know some lines are a little slower starting , but if your pup is showing this much interest at 9 months hunt it few nights every week a dump or 2 ...remember patience is the key when your starting pups you never know what they are gonna do . Have fun with your new project ! When he gets to treeing coons consistantly hunt his wheels off & work on any off game issues then .
