Treeing prob

I got a young dog that has treed with older dogs a few times and done real good. Treed by his self 5 -6 times.
A lot of times I think he pulls up too quick, I think he might not be checking his self good? Is there anything that I can do?

if the dog is less than a year old i would check the tree good if you don't find a coon leash him up and move away from the tree and cut loose again just don't let him back on the empty tree, if he keep's comming up short a good switch has worked for me . just make sure you check it good before you go to switcheing him, each time after that i get on them a little harder most learn quick if they have any smart's. this is what i do when they come up short some will agree and some will disagree if the switch don't work the shock collar will. the way i look at it is if i ruin the dog so what if it slick tree's it is no good to me anyhow. i would watch hunting when the leave's are on you might overlook the coon, best to work on one when the leave's are off , hope this help's you
