Date of Birth as it pertains to hunts

?? When looking at a purchasing a pup for competitions, do most people prefer to get a pup born close to any particular time of the year so there dog is a certain age at a particular hunt or does it matter much?

Also curious how most people go about choosing their hunts as in, do alot of people title their dog up in ukc before they hunt any pkc events or other combination?

All ears....

If I am picking any more pups I want one that's born in fall right before coon season so it can hit the fur season hard after it turns a year old.
