bumping trees
I have a 3 year old walker that trees on every tree in the woods. He was hunting and treeing coon hard but started bumping all the trees in the last few months. When I walk to him he moves to a different tree. I'm fairly ne to this and looking for advice on how to break this .
Just something to think about
I don't know your hound, or how dry it is where you live. But, last year about this time, it turned off dry and the kitten coon were coming out with the sows. There was a couple of months there we wondered if we had a descent hound. Checking lots of trees and slick treeing some. When it started raining and cooling off, our hounds went back to treeing coon more accurate and stopped all of the tree bumping. I can't tell you how to "fix" your hound. Only that what you are describing sounds like what we experienced for awhile last year. A sow and 3 kittens can leave scent on alot of trees in a patch of woods. Just something to consider and good luck.
