Pedigree and # of DEgrees

I have just recieved my puppy's Pedigree and it's father shows to have 16 puppies and no degrees. I know this dog has more puppies than 16 why does this only show 16? Second If my puppy gets it Started Hunting retriever Retriever title will it show up as a degree under the father?

16 puppies were registered with UKC. There could be others that were not. Yes, any degrees earned by the offspring will show on the parent's pedigrees.
