Puppy registration

Hello- I am very new to the UKC. I recently have brought a female Yorkie Terrier into my life and have thought about breeding her. My mother-in-law is interested in a male and we have thought about breeding. We are new to this and were wondering if we need to find a male that is registered with UKC to have the puppies registered under the UKC?? Thanks for all the help you can give.

Both sire and dam of a litter must be UKC registered before the litter can be registered. If you find a nice AKC registered dog that you want to breed yours to, make sure the owner is willing to register the dog UKC. In fact, I would recommend that you do that before you breed the dogs.
