On changing a dog's name ...
I'm curious why the UKC allows all name changes on dogs (as long as they've not produced progeny or have a title).
More specifically, why does the UKC allow changing the name on an imported dog? It already has papers, it may or may not have titles or progeny ... and yet, its name can be changed in the UKC.
I would like to suggest that the UKC develop some deeper rules on name changes.
Like:
+ imported dogs can not have their name changed
+ dogs registered as part of a litter must have the litter registrant's permission
For us to take your concerns into consideration, please submit a written, signed statement to us, to the attention of the Registration Department. Thanks.
