Pinched nerve in puppy?? (maybe) Help
I have a 5 week old pup, it went from being active pup, runnin and playin like any pup, to the next day it is weak and uncoordinated in its backend, stays sitting down or laying down a lot, and cant hardly seem to stand up with its back legs. It still will chew on stuff as pups do some, its eyes are clear, no symptoms of any disease and all other pups are good, its front end works just fine. It is keeping weight on, it is eating and drinking, and doing the other two important things pups should do...I have had it at one vet that didnt know his azz from a hole in the ground (except he know how to check him for worms and ear mites and giving me some expensive amoxicillin and liquid pain killer, did nothing, and charged me $120 bucks for it). I cant find anywhere on that pup that is sensitive or in pain, legs move good, no tender spots along spine, cant find anything irregular along its spine...anyone had a pup or dog get a pinched nerve, and how long did it take to get over it? This is the third day since it got injured. Maybe the mother stepped on it, I dont know...would appreciate any insight from similar experiences...
Hard to say withou seeing your pup, but perhaps it's Ricketts? It's a calcium deficiency in their bones/ joints. It leads to leg weakness, splayed legs, etc.
