dont let the dnr tell you there maybe 1or two cougars in iowa ive seen four differt ones. I had a scary enconter with one ,one night while coonhunting alone without a gun .I seen a pair of them ,there is breeding population on the Little sioux river , i can give names of five defferent people that have seen them . My brother seen one 2 miles no. of estherville the losse hills in western iowa has a healthy population the Big SIoux river has them from sioux city to sioux falls sd. one was killed by worthington Mn.-IRENTON IA.sioux city[in the city limits] Mayleton ia. Harlan Shelby co. one down by cordon. I have a shopping bag with cougar crap in it ill show you with coon hair and bone fragments in it. I have found deer carcess i think was killed by cougars,along the river while fishing,too many to acknor a few years back it was rare to find one. in the last ten years they have been showing up in the eastern and the southern states were there wasnt any i can give you names and ph. numbers to check it out. I would to hear form people with incounters stories . there isnt anything to panic about your chance to come face to face with one out of a million . call me and we will talk i can tell you more ph. 1 712 390 2525
