Any ideas on keeping or breaking a dog from climbing the tree

you can keep his toenails real short, that will help.
you can hunt him with a lighted collar and an e-collar and sneak in where you can watch what hes doing and bump him everytime he starts climbing, they may help.
the ones that are bad to climb ussualy die that way. good luck.
