Need some Advice

I have a seven month old walker pup that I just started hunting. He has only been in the woods two or three times. I showed him a caged coon about a month ago. He went crazy on it but failed to tree it when I turned it loose. I felt he was ready for the woods and didn't want him to lose interest in a caged coon so I have not done that again. Tonight I took him out with an older dog and my older dog treed. The pup barked a little bit so I went ahead and shot the coon out. The older dog got on the coon and the pup did the same. Once the coon was dead the pup growled at my older dog. What should I do about this? I haven't had this problem before, but have heard it can be a challenge to break this bad habit. Any ideas let me know, could use the help. Thanks for your time.

Once that coon is dead then that pup is now looking at it as if it were food. Put the leash on the pup and once they got that coon dead tie the pup back away from the other dog and the coon. It'll be fine.
