Old style black & Tan

I have a realy big {75lb} male . And I am going to bench show him at a hunt this coming weekend. My first bench show . He has three best of breeds and class {75points} Picking him up to stand on his toes is a little hard for me . Anyone have any pointers for me ? This boy ain't fat ,just big !!!!

Question

Does he have typical (and correct for B&T) big, thick padded, well knuckled-up feet? I discovered, when showing some of my old fashion B&Ts on the bench, that many judges were looking for little tiny "cat feet" and that often, my B&Ts with CORRECT B&T feet were being penalized. If your dog has good feet & strong pasterns (without being post-legged), then artificially "standing on his toes" should not be an issue. How does he look when standing naturally on the ground? Good judges will observe a dog's movement while gaiting and note how the dog looks standing naturally on the ground.
