I think I've figured out that PR stands for Purple Ribbon. I'd like to know what that means? What other types of ribbons are there? Are they sort of like status markers???

Sara...I'd like to thank you for answering all my questions I've posted thusfar. I think it's great that UKC has these forums. Your response time is excellent!! I don't end up waiting forever...gotta love that!!! You may already notice that I'm a novice at this whole Registration process. But with all the help I receive in here, hopefully I'll understand it all much more. Again, mahalo for all your help!!!

Purple Ribbon is a status given to pups at birth. It cannot be earned, say in a ring or any other type of event. It means that three generations of dogs are registered with UKC and six are on file with us. It separates those dogs that have been single registered from the original gene pool. For example, a lot of APBT people are especially proud that their bloodlines date back to 1898 on the UKC records. So that means years and years of Purple Ribbon pedigrees. An accomplishment they can be very proud of.

And welcome newby! Hope you find UKC a wonderful experience.
