Navy Sailor Refuses To Stand For The Flag

A U.S. Navy sailor stationed at Pearl Harbor refused to stand for the pledge of Allegants. The sailor has been in the U.S. Navy since 2008 so she knows the rules and standing orders of the U.S. Navy. Can't wait to see how the U.S. Navy handles this. Seems she chose BLM over her oath to the U.S. Constitution. The U.S. Navy is NOT a football team.

What do you think the U.S. Navy should do with her?

Based upon the information I've seen, it appears that a courtmartial is in order. Considering the level of political correctness in our military, I doubt it will happen.

She seems to have forgotten that the military is not a democracy and that as a service member we can not take part in political agendas, religous agendas, and such. We can on our time and in private but not openly try to influence others while in uniform or on duty. We can not choose which orders to follow, we follow all unless unlawfull.

36 U.S. Code § 301 - National anthem

(b) Conduct During Playing.—During a rendition of the national anthem—
(1) when the flag is displayed—
(A) individuals in uniform should give the military salute at the first note of the anthem and maintain that position until the last note;

Not sure on actual wording but I do know it is a punishable offense. Not a court marshal offense unless individual continues to disobey a lawfull order.

They are written a report from conduct unbecoming while in uniform up to treason. There are a few other things the Senior NCO could add on during the USMJ process. I was a MP back when the military was structured & the Corps didn't put up with nonsense while raising or lowering the Flag.
