Hi to all you redbone people!!

Finally back on the Redbone page again. Look forward to keeping up a little more on what is going on. Just realized this is my 50th year in the ARCA. Joined in 1966 at Redbone sectional at Lees Summit, Mo. Mr. Dorman Clouse was the show judge and signed me up. Hard to believe this many years have gone by but still love to hear those hounds in the woods. I still make it out with Rob Farr a few times each year. Rob sure has some nice dogs and keeps them in the woods. Hi to everyone!!!

Hey Terry, good to see you on the message board. I'm not hunting either because of a few different reasons but mostly because of the lack of places to hunt. I'm still very much interested in the Redbone breed and like to keep up with what is going on.

American Redbone Days is going to be in Northeast Oklahoma next year. Around Adair I believe. Maybe you can make it there. I know a lot of folks would like to see you including myself.

Danny

That was the year that I graduated from high school. Can you believe that people are still talking about Gr Nt Ch Farr's Rambling Red Little Zack, Gr Nt Ch Hayes Rambling Red Zack and Gr Nt Ch Hayes Rambling Red Ace after all of these years?

Hay to u. We have 2 Redbones: Ruby and her pup, Dandy. Dandy has Hayes Ramblin Red Ace in his pedigree.

Terry, you'll have to tag along with Rob sometime when we go hunting. 2 females have recently been bred to Turkey that are very heavy with your old dogs. Bato is fairly close in one of the pedigrees. That's a dog that I really liked.

Ace

I always thought of Ace as being one of the historical best. My friend Jim Carpenter had Tarheel Red Ace which was out of him.

Talking

IS THERE ANY RED HOUNDS THAT DONT HAVE ACE SOMEWHERE IN BACK GROUND.

Jones Yellow River Red Chilli, that is why they bred her to Steve-O.
Banjo III, that is why they bred Heidi to him.

Welcome back, Terry

Glad to see you back on here & getting into the swing of things again. Does this mean you are actively getting back into hunting/promoting red dogs? We could use a little Ace/Chief blood up this way to help a few of these red dogs out!!! I will say there are a lot of nice red dogs in my area though. If you ever make a trip back to Iowa to see Henning/Gummert, don't be afraid to call & we'll get a hunt set up. Take care, Ron

Chili has Ace top and bottom. You'll need to buy the big pedigree to see it.

Welcome back to the board Terry. You should start breeding dogs again.

Hello Terry Hayes!

One of my all time HERO's in this sport! No bigger fan of this guy than I am. As a 13 year old kid, I wrote him several letters and he always wrote back...and when he won Redbone Days back in his day, he actually hunted all three nights!

I will never forget you and Fred and Gummy walking into the Wick Outdoor Works store all of those decades ago!!

Good to see you on the board Terry!!

Big Mark

You mean they didn't have the interweb and text messages back then?

Darren, are you trying to say that Yellow River Redbones are actually Haye's Ace bred?

Old friends

So good to hear from all of you. Mark, we spend winters in Az riding horses at Apache Jct. Where are you living now? Still remember the Ohio hunt visiting your home country. Travis I definitely want to do that. All I hear is good things about your dog Turkey. Ron, I don't make it to Iowa anymore but miss those fun trips and hunts up there. Thinking of taking horse to Shawnee Forest area of Ill to ride for a week or so and take in a day of US Redbone Days. Maybe see some of you there. Glad to see so many people hunting dogs with Ace in their ped. Such a shame he did not live long enough to have more pups out of him. I feel very blessed to have been able to hunt him. I don't believe I ever came in from a hunt that I wasn't told how impressive he was to all hunters even if they hunted other breeds. So good to hear people still remember.

Do u ever ride in PA? People I know liked riding at Shawnee. I was suppose to go to Hocking Hills with friends in May, but my dad passed away the wk we were suppose to leave so I didn't go. Hope to get there someday.

Mr Hayes, what has happened to Rob Farr? He came on the board for awhile but then disappeared.

Posted by Mark Zepp on 07-26-2016 11:48 PM:

Hello Terry!

I am in Middlebury, IN now, a mile from MI and 52 miles from OH.

I have been looking for that photo of the hunt we had that night...what a great night and memories!! Wish we still had the farm and I miss it everyday.

Apache Junction and AZ is nice...but we are glad to be off the border. We lived south of Tucson and it was no place to raise our son, who was getting ready to go into kindergarten at the time and my wife has family in this area.

Some days while coyote hunting I would see hundreds of illegals crossing into the US...I learned on the farm, as a kid, good fences make good neighbors. It is unimaginable what goes on down there but it is out of sight and out of the minds of most folks.

Hope you are well friend!

Big Mark
