Anybody who would go out of their way and take the time to talk to the Elkhart County Coon Conservationist is probably a pretty good guy! Good luck to the guys moving on to the Finals!

Smile John and Richard

Maybe John is Prince to the King.

I never noticed how much these two look alike.

Could someone post their pedigree? Maybe we should have UKC DNA test them.

Congrats Richard, You definitely got yourself a winner and a Coondog. Go Boone and Richard.

Well, Boone and I have accomplished our goal of getting into the Finals. Boone has done that for 2 years in a row now. We might not even go to Flora.

Posted by Richard Lambert on 09-21-2015 02:43 PM:

Y'all are much too kind. All that I did was buy the dog and give him a ride up there. For me it takes a real team to accomplish something like this. A lot of peolpe had a hand in getting Boone ready for the Zones. I would like to thank Andy Abts, Jared Hutcherson, Bud Ramsey, Larry Depoister, Rod Nicely, Dean Daughtery and of course my back up handler and coach Keith Hutcherson. Without friends like these we never would have made it.

It is real funny that you picked that picture to post. Don't John and I both have a dog in the finals? I guess that we are competitors now. You won't see any hugging going on this weekend.

Posted by Richard Lambert on 09-21-2015 02:50 PM:

Marv do you remember when I PM'd you a couple of years back and told you that I knew where a Redbone was that y'all needed to try and buy? Well, it took me 3 years of waiting and looking for a partner before he would fit into my budget but I finally got him bought myself.

First of all.......
That picture makes me laugh.
Richard and Boone had a good run the last few weeks. He had a good showing in his cast last night.

Boone looked real good but we could just not catch a break on Thursday night. We were just unlucky. Boone trailed away from the rest of the cast and got treed all by himself right off the bat. I was real proud of him but could not get the coon to look. Walker dog treed with a coon in a tiny tree right out in the open. Walker then treed another coon and Boone backed him for 75. Then Boone split with a coon all by himself while walker dog had a circle tree. Then Boone treed another coon all by himself 4 min after the hunt ended. We had a good hunt and there is always next year.
