the dog in the pen wont have nothing to do with it for 2 days before I took it out...

her mother was same way and

her grandmother also,

but throw a coon in there all he!! going break loose.

this what you get when breeding for coondogs
the female in the pen is 5th generation I raised.

Wild Bill, that is some good stuff. But I had two different dogs out of my line, (one a Grand and one a Nt.Ch.) that would let a coon come in their pen and eat the dog food right out of their bowl.

I could not believe my eyes when I seen that coon eating out of the dog bowl and the dog lying not 8 feet away. Now both of these dogs were pretty good kill dogs as well. I never understood how they didn't associate a coon in the pen the same as they did a coon in the wild. But I seen it with my own eyes, so I know it was true.

Both dogs had treed well over 600 coon before these incidents took place.

that trough is the dogs wadeing pool,had to dump it for all the mud they would leave in it when they took their bath.
the smaller one is the drinking water,they turn it over if water gets too warm for their likeing.

yep, some dogs got something between their ears besides air.
had a few dogs wouldnt take 2nd look at a cage coon at treeing contest but would hammer on tree in woods at night.

I used to have one that didn't bark at a caged coon also,,oh wait a minute,,,he didn't bark at one in the wild either

with the local livestock.. dogs may booger bark at them if they get close to their dog food ,, otherwise they ignore them.

standing outside puppypen where possum was..

this what happens when breeding for coondogs.

cant even get a good possum or deerhound out the bunch.

maybe could mix some that deer cocaine in their feed and drop a 5 hour energy in the water..
embarrising when your dogs wont help in a good deer chase.
hunted in the state park this season an dogs run right down the road an deer standing on both sides of the road an never looked their way.
looks like going have to get a different breed of dog if that don't help.
years ago my baby brother had a b&t he bought out of tn. that could run a deer around to you like a rabbit dog an sounded pretty doing it but his bootick would come in an set by your feet an listen to the race.
that b&t would fetch possum and skunk and drop them at your feet or follow you around till you took the animal out of his mouth ,sometimes he didn't kill them till he seen if you wanted it.
just don't make dogs like that anymore..lol

i like the fresh roadkill kind better,
just have to pick the gravels out them like buckshot out of rabbits.
