-- Question about Sportmix Dog Food (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=467164)
Question about Sportmix Dog Food
I have been feeding Sportmix High Energy in the black bag for about 3 years now.In the last few weeks I have noticed that my dogs have lost a little weight and are not eating it as good as they were.I have also noticed a couple have seemed to have some diahrea.I worm my dogs every month with a good wormer and my pups more often than that.Has anyone else feeding Sportmix noticed this.I think they may have changed their ingredients and if they have they lost a custumer that buys a lot of feed.I have already stopped feeding it and my dogs are eating good again.I was just curious to know if anyone else is experiencing this problem.
I haven't had any trouble with the black bag
but my dogs never did like the green stamina bag. I do notice that the size of the nugget will change on the black from time to time.

I tried Sportmix for awhile. Most of it came out the back of the dog. I didn't care for it.

I have been feeding sportmix in the black bag and have been haveing good luck with it. I used to feed Tops in a red bag, dogs loved. Got some more tops one day nothing would not eat it. Thought that I maybe just got a bad bag went to another store and got a bag same way. A friend told me that they had changed the formal to keep from going up on the price, don't know if that was the case but somthing happened. I hope the sportsmix is not doing the same.

SPORTSMIX BLACK BAG
I have been feeding the blk bag for over a year now. No problem here. Very little stool and keeps my dogs up very well.

I hope they haven,t changed the formula and it was just a bad batch that got sent our way.I really liked it up untill thiis happened.I have asked a couple of local people and some of them have switched for the same reason.
Sports Mix
A year ago I bought 4 ton, and thought the 26-18 was good. Then they raised the price $4.00 a 100 lb. so I quit them and
went back to a feed I had fed for a long time. I have 8 ton on
order right now that I was getting out of MO. The company had a breakdown and i had to get a ton of other feed to keep our dogs
going. 10 bags were the 26-18 sport mix. The dogs acted like I
was trying to get them to eat junk. They ended up loose as gravy.
No more of that. I got the 26-18 Diamond now and hope I don't have to buy any more before I get my regular feed.

sports mix
i fed it a few yrs back and my dogs got to where they didnt want to eat it so i changed feeds havent tried it again
I was feeding the black bag no problems
I switched to the cam bag which has the same protein and 2% less fat content dogs doing great actually getting fat on it, stool is still consistent and best part is 18.50 for fifty pounds. The black bag is 21.50 a bag so three bucks a bag savings for two percent less fat pretty good feed, I will probably switch back to black bag next time though because of colder weather. But to answer your question I have been feeding it for past 6-8 months and no problems. Give em a call and see what they have to say. One more thing though I do add Diamond to mine every now and then just to mix the flavor up for em, I think as much as I like to eat I would probably get tired of same old thing every day? That is just my opinion though.

I fed the 26/18 for a couple months. I didn't care for it, dogs didn't do that good on it, and wouldn't eat it have the time.
good luck here
i started buying sportmix instead of Diamond back in late August because the Diamond was pushing $32 a bag and Sportmix (blue)bag was $22.50ish......the stools have been real firm and coats soft and shiney. 2 weeks ago I switched to the black bag of sportmix and all's well ! Unless something changes I'm thinkin this is the feed I'm going to be using for a while .........

I have fed Sportsmix 24/20 in the past with good results. You have to give your dogs time to adjust to it. I feed Native Dog Food now and I am very happy with it . There is nothing wrong with Sportsmix I just like Native better.
Been feeding Diamond(26/18) but they were out last time so I
am feeding Sportsmix this time. Went from two stools a day to
at least three. Will go back to Diamond!
