I USE 5 GAL COOKING OIL JUGS. FILL THEM WITH CORN AND WATER. SET THEM IN YOUR SPOT AND THE TOP WILL BLOW OFF WHEN IT'S READY.

Greg will it blow the top in the winter?

I have a man that feeds candy to his cows and the coons love it. Don't hunt there much everytime the dog will get him a mouth full and its hard to tree with your teeth stuck together not really but I do worry about worms.

a tire filled with corn is all i use.put a jar of kool-ade powder in it and no possum or anything but coon.a bag of corn is alot cheaper than dog food an lasts 4 times longer.ive got my trail cam on it and there is about 9 coon feeding all hours of the night.now their starting to bring their kittens.all you can smell up the holler is grape kool-ade.

Start your bucket or whatever close to a branch on the edge of a 100 acre field and keep moving the bucket towards the middle. Otherwise you will train a bunch of tree happy fools.

This is what I use, I use koolaid instead of beer but it works great. Coon have to work a little to get the corn out so they stay at it for hours and hours. Plus they get their paws wet so they lay a little better track for those young dogs to run.

Then how and why would they want to mess with it?

I like a tire feeder better then a bucket feeder because you can set it away from trees. This keeps from having alot of scent on one tree also with the water in the tire a coon will lay down a good track.

You can drive a rebar anywhere and wire the handle of the bucket to it. Maybe you are right , they might go to treeing up the rebar. LOL

Hey thanks alot guys!!!! Really appreciate the replays keeping coming! Just got done with work here in Wisconsin its little after 3 and I'm getting ready to hit the timber with those two females. Going to make a couple of feeders Tom after noon though!!!

We have bucket feeders in a couple spots and a peice of pvc pipe with an elbow on it in another, both work great. usually put corn in them it seems to work a little better than the dog food does.

I ONLY DO FEEDERS IN THE SUMMER WHEN THE DAYS ARE SO LONG. I ONLY TURN LOOSE ON THEM DURING THE WEEK ALSO BECAUSE TIME IS LIMITED AND I WORK. WHEN THE TIME CHANGES I CAN HUNT ABOUT 4 TO 5 HOURS A NIGHT AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT A FEEDER. I ALSO NEVER SHOOT FEEDER COON.

5ft long with a cap on top end and a 90 degree on bottom end with a 1 1/2 inch hole towards the top of cap on that end. Just get the thin wall pvc.
