Southern Iowa's "Little Oaks"
After your long day each day at Autumn Oaks, is it possible to dial up and keep us less fortunate souls posted? Think a poll is in order here. 8-)

Forget Autumn Oaks
You tell the Ax man he better be ready for the second annual, "Little Oaks". Joe is tuned up after his stunning Sat. night outing. Robs female is in heat so I assume he is going to the second string and Smoke...you never know what he is going to be bringing.
I have the trophy ready and the cooler full.
This may not be the event that makes history, but the event that slightly bends the UKC honor rules to conform to an average pleasure hunt.
I'll call with the details.

Ax is looking forward to Little Oaks. You two need to make sure that you are on the same page as far as the date is concerned . . . .lol. Think that he is planning on hunting Freebie. Later. . . .

We will be giving general interest updates...
Unfortunately the format of Autumn Oaks will not allow us to post winners until Sunday morning.
AO is a One night Nite Hunt that is hunted in Two nights.....We keep the Friday scores as secretive as possible so that the Saturday crowd doesn't have somethng to aim for...

Everyone has left for the Oaks so I will try to answer this question. It would be an unfair advantage to Saturday night hunters to know what the score is that they would have to beat.
For those of you that are going to the Oaks, be sure to sit in on one of Tank's seminars to learn about the new Performance Program. And, he won't brag about himself, but Kellam's Coonhound Advisor is for sale at the magazine desk. You can get it free with a new subscription or renewal to Coonhound Bloodlines. What a deal!
I miss seeing you all but lots going on here at the office.
Good luck everyone!
Wouldn't see how posting the bench show results would affect the outcome of the hunt. . . . with just a paragrah or two of general chit chat and/or antidotes. Surely would keep those of us who are unable to attend abreast of what is happening.
I for one will be working . . . . Ax is shoeing horses during the day and preparing for Southern Iowa's "Little Oaks" in the evenings. This "hunt" could be interesting . . . .lol.
Hope that everyone enjoys Autumn Oaks and be safe in your journey to and from.
Cindy

Hey CB
Last time I visited with RC, we are all congregating at my house. I think saying "this hunt could be interesting", might just be an understatement. One thing is for sure, we will have a good time. Now, if the guide can just find some coon to put us in?!

Are you going to make it down with Ax or do you have to hold down the fort?

Will have to see what the day brings . . . imagine that I will stay home since we have his kids this weekend.
There's so much to be done around here that's been let go all summer so that we could let the kids show their dogs in as many shows as possible. Pasture to be mowed, weeds to be pulled, kennels to be cleaned (an always job), it's the weekend for ear mite treatment and worming on the dogs, (and that's just outside - haven't even mentioned inside!!!) and the list just goes on and on . . . .lol . . . .somethings never change!!!!
Can't wait to hear the play by play of Little Oaks . . . . .should be some story to listen to . . . . .suppose??????

Heres the Deal Little Oaks Participants
C.B.-
Have Ax man meet me and Smoke at my place at about 7:00...we will then head to Rob's. It may be that we have to divide into two "casts" and go from there if there are enough dogs.
This years showcase will include a babbling walker dog, a bluetick that hunts like a walker dog, a walker pup that runs through the woods looking for a tree, a red retard that will tree a housecat, a blue female that can honestly out-strike a babbling dog, and a blue pup that will probably win the whole thing.
This years "trophy" is a pink yard flamingo my uncle got at an auction in a box of junk. The winners name from last year and from each year on out will be engraved into the plastic for perpetuity. Trophy must reside at the residence of the champion for at least one year near, or inside the kennel.
UKC honor rules apply...vaguely. Any whining will get you permanently barred! Shock collars allowed. .22's will be on hand for 'training' excercises. Absolutely no bench show! Awards to be handed out for best sportsmanship, best blonde joke, best Donny Gay P.B.R. imitation and biggest bullshi**er.
See you Sat night.

LITTLE OAKS - RC
Ax will see you on Saturday night . . . . .looking for some decent blonde jokes . . . .figure that he might need them to win something . . . . . .hehehe.
I nominate RC to post the play by play of Little Oaks . . .got the feeling that it could be quite entertaining, to say the least.

Little Oaks Paticipants
CB - I second the motion on RC giving the play by play on here. That will be plum INTERESTING!
RC - We all know who will get the trophy for the best Donnie Gay imitation! If he shows up. If not I guess I can probably come up with one or two. My favorite one.... "You couldn't drive a needle up there with a sledge hammer"
Or, "watch out...... here comes Roto Rooter". hehehe

Smoke - I have put the bug in Don's ear as well as his wife's. As to whether or not he will show........... Time will tell. If so, I look for him to be late ( as usual). We should have enough cafine down the ole spout by then to hunt most of the night and not wear down. ( well.... some of ya won't wear down! Young whipper snappers)

I think it is a bad Ideal. You go posting scores and the less honest hunters will know what they have to beat to get in on Sunday morning. And they will do whatever it takes to do this.

I don't Recall
anyone saying they wanted to see the scores....... just the results. All we would like would be an update on cast winners and the like.

When I think of someone posting a play by play I think of the whole results and all. SO sorry no one defined a play by play. And you are right no one said anything about the scores, nor did they specifically say results they said play by play. Maybe this post was just a little misleading.

You are Right, Shannon
It would be great to know what was happening during the big event........ maybe next year.
