VA training season

we had a good day in craig county I saw some really good dog work.
this is me under the first tree of the day it was 8/29/09

this is the second bear we tree that day

this bear was treed on the 8/22/09

good looking pics. it aint no tellin how many snakes i have walked over this summer. i havnt noticed any rattlers or copperheads but they sure are here. here is one we treed 8-29-09 NC we had two or three races going, this is the one we made it to, couldnt get to the others, and had a few come out in another part of the mtn with claw marks on them.

found out this evening they like to climb too. lol never saw one do that yet but after a few stories tole around the campfire so to speak this evening i will also be looking up from now on lol

treed another one today, only bout 180# seen it three different times, and never did get a pic of it. seen it cross the road, didn't have time to take pic., got to tree, and as i was getting my camera it bailed out, and the last time was when i was catching the dogs off of it 5 hrs later, i ran out the road and got above it, it was so tired that it didn't even notice me. it walked right up to me, i backed up out of sight so it would come on up into road so i could catch the dogs. never even thought to take pic then. lol

we hunted fri,sat,and sun.treed 2 fri and ran the other days in some bad places if you know what I mean.will be back at it this weekend.

got on a mean one sat. got my 10 month old onyx x hayze pup bit in the front leg and hip and got my moon female with possible broke ribs, and my jewel female with claw marks in the hip. onyx pup is doing great, that is twice she has been caught, but still keeps going back for more. but will be out of the race til her leg heals, moon too. bear wouldnt tree, just walked around for hours, stopping every so often and catching dogs. let the dogs heal and rest for a few days, going to hit it again in the morning.

I thing everybody got dogs hurt that day didnt they tommy wouldnt you over here in nc with em we went last sat and it seemed like everydog we turned loose come out with cuts and bites on em i mean nearley every body had to docter their dogs it was a bad bear plenty of size and an attitude to go wit it lol never treed it either got a right on top of it to get a pic and it broke and never got close again but everybodies dogs done a excellent job it was a heck of a day

hey how you been I see you been treeing some bear.I just got in from hunting.young dogs are doing good there not bear dogs but there running pretty good.good luck the rest of the season I hope to make it up your way one day.
