HEY GUYS ,,,CMW THAT GETS ON HERE ALOT HIS DOG HAS LOST ITS MOUTH HE SAYS HIS RABBIT DOG IS LOUDER THAN HIS COONDOG NOW ITS BEEN THIS WAY FOR ABOUT A MONTH NOWIT GETS BETTER THEN IT GETS BAD AGAIN ,IVE HEARD YOU GUYS ON HERE BEFORE TALKIN ABOUT DIFFERENT THINGS AND MEDS TO GIVE THEM FOR THIS PROBLEM CAN ANY OF YAS HELP HIM OUT WITH WHAT TO DO FOR HIS DOG,THANKS GUYS

Ron u remember my chief dog lost his the only way we got it back was to take him off his dog chain and put him in a kennel some dogs pull and bark on a chain. and if thats the case it will never come back like it was.

HE WAS but i got me a kennel built now and him the female run and play along the kennel wall its been maybe 3 weeks now id say he has been in the kennel

its strong but it dont seem the same now thats what ive heard of him in the kennel

it seems at times if u didnt know better ud think he was in a hole

This may sound odd, but iv had it done to a couple of dogs over the years, but you may look at having his tonsils taken out. It will be a difference in night and day. I thought the same but i know a handful of people that had young dogs with awesome mouths but by the time they were three, you couldn't hear them. Its a simple procedure, (for a vet!) if his mouth doesn't come back and hes fairly young I would check into it.

I just talked to a vet about Buk's tonsils coming out and he told me not just any vet could do it. AND he said it would cost me around $2000. Buk has lost his voice and is only about half as loud as he was and I'm looking for a cure also. The vet thought about steroids.

hay that sounds like willie at times good and strong and then weakens but the whole time he sounds different not the same now with me they gave me antibotics but it really i dont think worked what about buk's did he start with a cough

My dog barked out at 5 mo old..he;s got about half the mouth he use to'
I took him to the vet,,we put him on antibiotics and steriods.

I hate too hear a tonsilectmy is so high,,ive got a appt at the vet tomorrow for a physical for him,,and i was gonna have her yank them rascals out.

Heres Home cures i've tried
3 cc durimycin squirted in throat for 3 days
Robitusun Cough syrup Twice a day
Lemon and warm Honey
Yellow Mustard squirted in throat.

If I could get him a little louder like he was ,,he would be a high dollar dog.

A LOT OF THOSE TYPE REMEDYS WORK ON DOGS ESPECIALLY THE OLD ONES OUR GRAMPAS OR DADS USE TO USE ,I STILL USE USED MOTOR OIL AND SULFER FOR SKIN PROBLEMS ON MY DOGS AND THAT WORKS ABOUT EVERY TIME ,WERE GONA HAVE TO GET GUYS TO POST OLD REMEDYS FOR DIFFERENT THINGS AND YOUR GONA HAVE TO WRITE A BOOK ABOUT THEM CAUSE THERE ARE A LOT OF OLD FASION CURES THAT WORK,YA KNOW WE HEAR A LOT ABOUT DOGS LOSING THERE MOUTHS LIKE S ON HERE RIGHT NOW ,I KNOW THERES A NUMBER OF THINGS THAT CAUSES IT ,BUT THERE MOUTHS ALMOST ALWAYS NEVER COME BACK LIKE THEY WERE

I was at a nite hunt last week,,and a old timer said,,use vicks vapor rub,,he said just get a small gob, and put it in there mouth.

i wish i could find a good old school vet the one i got for willie aint bad but its hard to find the old ones who knew all the remides

Me too. The vet I talked to really didn't want to do any kind of surgery. He thought I wanted the dog to not bark so much. He was surprised when I said I wanted him to bark more and LOUDER. I really don't think he understood what I had with a coondog and his mouth. One of those fifi vets you know.

Kycooner let me know what your vet says about taking out tonsils. I might have to make a trip with Buk to your vet.

If anyone out there knows a GOOD vet that could do the job and not charge an arm and a leg, please, PLEASE let me know about them. THANK YOU!!!!! I'm about to get desperate!!!

i know Paul i dont know any vets who even know much about coon hunten thats why the one i use he aint out to rob ya but they still aint the kind grandpa used old school vets i think r a thing of the past

$2,000?!?!?!?!? That makes me wanna go and give my vet a big hug. I haven't had it done in a few years, but I think the first one I had done was $40! Im sure its higher now but ****.

I bought a young black and tan male a few years back that just would not shut up in the kennel I yelled at him, wooped him and wooped him some more, bark collar, shock collar, didn't matter woop him or shock him 5 min later he's barking again. He barked himself hoarse and his voice never came back. eventually sold him.

Tonsillectomy

My vet said she could do it for 175,,plus the cost of antibiotics and steriods.

And she specializes in dogs.

My dog started to hoarse right up this spring, hes voice ain't what it was ... still at times hoarser on track seems to usually be fine when he gets treed. I try to keep him quite around the yard, seems to have helped.

Now my father had a dog who lost her voice, it ain't near what it used to be doesn't even sound like a dog lol ... he tried her on steriods it brought her voice back when she was on them but once she was taken off them it went back to the way it was before he tried them.

I have decided the vet I talked to don't know anything about this tonsil thing. I'm going to contact Kycooner's vet and see what she can do. Thanks a whole lot.
