Clint Smith

I got my Red Oak pup from CLINT ,he was workin to much to hunt her right, everything he told me about the dog was the truth, she split treed on RealDeal RED the 2nd night out and she had the meat,i have no sights on my rifle so it took about 6 rounds to knock it out for her ,she did not hold the proper pressure on tree but did not leave ,she will get tied back a few times and that will be fixed..tonite she held good pressure [biteing tree bark going nuts ] 4 or five more coon shot out to her and think she will be on her way to some hunts..o yea she gets gone quick with ole red and deep ,I finally found her about a mile deep last night right in the middle of a oak thicket goin nuts with my male..im very pleased and cannot wait to take her out for the 3rd time, more progeres I hope ,but by the way shes acting its an absolute,my only worrie is that I have no garmin so a whole lot of walkin down in holler to get up the the next ridge to listin for them..did I tell yall she has a great BIG mouth just as loud as my male and he has a super big ball mouth....lets not forget all this hoffmeisters stuff on top [wild willy,y2kd,rusty red,and bomber, you know you have a dog when you just cant to hit the woods again

masonman 1974... Red Oaks...

Here is Thunder's Pedigree...he is from Mr. Van Buren's stock and a brother to Red Oaks' Lilly...

Here he is doing his thing...He's consistent...hard driving...accurate, and when he starts a track it ends on a tree...He is my second "Once in a lifetime dog". I have other good finished hounds and leopards that are very good track and tree dogs...Thunder is far above them in talent....I am training a red female with him that is performing as he does. I am hoping that when I single her out after this season that she will be at his level or better. She's wired just like him so far in her performance.

He surpassed Lady Belle, my Black and Tan after 3 weeks of running him with her... and she is a very accurate, finished coon dog. A friend of mine took Lady to train his Leopards with in Clarksville Tennessee. I singled Thunder out after he took her home with him last year...

Clints Dog

IZZIE I raised her here in our kennel. She was a very nice young dog just was focused on finishing her mother Lilly and Ruby so much at that time just hated for her to sit in the pen. That was lillys first litter of pups .Masonman you have a very nice young dog there keep me updated on her progress.Keep in touch,Coondog Mountain Redbone Kennels owners:Stephen Smith,Bill Smith 270-965-2398,270-965-4846

It is due time that Denis Van Buren is getting some recognition. He has been at it a long time and has produced some really nice dogs. I think he has a really good stud in the Magnum dog.

P.S. The Guitar dog behind Magnum ain't too shabby either.

I have to agree I think Dennis has impacted this breed in nothing but outstanding ways .Lilly is everything I ever wanted in a redbone and Denis is as honest as they come in this world!

RED OAK LILLY

izzy struck as soon as her feet hit the ground last night ,I turned her and red lose right in front of a huge possum so I thought here we go ill get to train her not to tree a possum but she went the other way she did not shut up for about 25 min.while they were workin that track out ...I think issy found the coon first but didn't tree until red did ..I shot it out ..big boar coon..clint said he never shot one coon out to her while he had her he said he never even ran her with a dog that could tree coon,so my question to you RED OAK LILLY is this....what did you do with this dog while you had her?did you ever shoot out a coon to her?run her with any dogs?it would help me to know her past experiences..thx.

Izzie Busy

She was put in a starting pen for a month when she was 7 months old, then we hunted her last season with her momma and other dogs alot .We put out several coons on her before I started hunting her mother in the hunts. She never did anything wrong and I never had to even lead her out hunting ,tell her to go load in the truck and see what she does, one smart pup there and she never messed with any off game they started her on coon in the pen and thats the history on her!

Posted by masonman1974 on 10-29-2013 11:54 AM:

lol...izzie didn't look very good last night...not her fault coons are thin and Red don't slow down ..she done well for first 2 hours or so after that she was just wore out she is not in good enough shape yet but she will be because me and ole Red do it till daylight..as soon as she can keep up well in a 5 hour hunt I will single her out and she will have her chance.
