2013 Iowa State Coon Hunters Association Youth Event

This year the event will be held in LeGrand, Iowa. I have been asked to help coordinate this event. Jerry Hawkins will be set up as a vendor.

The date is set for JUNE 22. At this time we are looking at 5:00 bench show and 8:00 nite hunt. We'll fill up the spare time with some fun activities.

Is the date!!! 5:00 and 8:00 deadlines.

Rod, about anything is good. I've seen shirts from businesses, toys, calendars. Of course leashes and collars of all styles. If people want to make monetary donations, that would be fine also. There is going to be some shopping before the event.

At this point that will be all there is for sanctioned events. The only place we have locally held water races and field trials is right next to what is now a very busy 4 lane highway. Our next meeting I'm going to bring up a treeing contest, and some fun games.

Fully just an idea and if the club has grounds for it we had a chicken catching contest and its alota fun,different age classes and even let 1 go for the adults,kids love the squalling contests to,if it works out I'm planning on comin down for it.

These guys are working hard to make this a full day of great events for our youth. I am sure any help that we could give them would be much appreciated. Only have couple more weeks to get it all done, so if you can help please don't hesitate to get with Tully and see what they need help with, so that this can be a great day for the kids.

I DON'T HAVE THE RESULTS, BUT WE HAD 12 DOGS IN THE SHOW, AND THERE WERE 27 DOGS THAT WENT TO THE WOODS. WE SAW A LOT OF SMILES TONIGHT! WHAT A GREAT GROUP OF YOUNG HOUNDSMEN, AND HOUNDSWOMEN!!!!!!

I'D LIKE TO THANK EVERYBODY THAT WAS ABLE TO ATTEND!

A GREAT THANKS GOES OUT TO DON BOUCHER. DON WAS AMAZING IN ROUNDING UP RAFFLE PRIZES, AND BRINGING HIS HUGE GRILL, AND ALSO DID ALL THE COOKING FOR THE KIDS.

THANKS ALSO TO DALE GOODRICH (PLUMB CREEK SUPPLY), AND JERRY HAWKINS (JERRYS LIGHTS) FOR THEIR GENEROUS DONATIONS TOWARDS THIS EVENT!

Brayden and I would like to thank everybody for all the leg work and time put into this event!!!

Very well run and kids stayed busy and ALL had a great time,kids were still running crazy at 2am blowin squallers!

Iowa has a huge crop of 12 and under kids wich means more 12 and older in the future!
