im possibly the worst dog trainer ever...
ok.. thought i would give everyone a good laugh on here this morning, i had a caged coon that i was gonna turn loose last night and let my young dogs run and tree him.. also had my son and 2 nephews along.. all under 10 yrs old..well all was good until i turned the coon out and he runs under my truck and lodges himself between the gas tank and the bed.. so i spent the next hour trying to get him out, dogs going crazy.... kids screaming and scared to get back in the truck, and im poking the coon out from underneath the truck.... i never got him out, so needless to say he got to go down the road 70 mph..... lol, i hope he came out after we got home last night and everything calmed down.. definitely not the way i planned it.. if i could have filmed this i would be rich!!
Hey bud , heres a late warning that wont do you any good now... I had the same thing happen to me once but the coon turned around after the dogs caught him on the ground & he whooped em & ran about 200 yds to our truck & climbed up into the engine compartment. We were trying to dig him out but it just P'd him off so he started pulling spark plug wires out! Took us forever to dig him out of the truck but we finally did. I always try my best to keep them away from my vehicles now but as you know now it doesnt always go as planned! Good luck next time! LOL

We also had a terrier pull one out of a hole a few yrs ago that took a flying leap onto my 6'1" 230 lb. ex cornhusker linebacker brothers leg & started puttin a whoopin on him! May have been the funniest **** I have ever been a part of... ( for us that is) We were all rolling around laughing while he was floppin all over trying to get it off him & by the time we got it pulled off him it had ruined his brand new jeans! LOL ! Sorry Josh!

All I'm gonna say is "BEEN THERE DONE THAT" I will say the engine compartment is the worst.

thats funny
lol
That going to be a memory that you guys will always have.
Here is the funniest and wildest I have ever had.
This big bad boar coon was trapped in downtown Salado, TX. He was accustom to doing and eating anywhere he wanted to. We took him out of town to train some year old pups. (Bad idea!)
We turned him out and gave him about ten minutes, then walked the pups that direction. They struck, after a quick fight, they treed right there. This huge rascal was only 10 ft. up in a tree. So let's jump him out and have a race. (Another bad idea.) I went right up the tree. (Even worse idea.) This coon decited I was the one that was going to leave the tree. He came right to me, and tried his best to put me out. "Shoot up here amungst us, one of us has to have some releaf." Finally I was able to use a club and get him to the ground. My buddy was on the ground laughing. That stopped when the coon took after him. Pups keeping their distance. My buddy fell down and this huge, very upset coon decided my buddies hunting boot needed to be torn off his leg. Pups all over, but no help. Now it was my time to laugh. My buddy trying to crawl backwards, pups all over his chest and head, coon working on his leg and boot, and me up the tree laughing. Finally the coon decides that one of these pups was too close, so he leaves my buddies leg, to chase this pup. This reverse race was about 40 yards to a dry creek., pups in front and behid this coon. There the coon decides to climb on a log and attack any dog or any man that walked his way. We left him setting right there. (Finally a good idea!)

I treed a coon in a garage one time. The light came on while I was in there trying to sneak my dogs out and the owner of the house was not happy. He opened the door in the garage to the house to find me and two barking blueticks. The man came out in the garage and the coon went past him into the house with one of my dogs after him. Right into the living room and down the hall into the bathroom. Before I could explain what I was doing the dog after the coon in the mans house bayed and started fighting the coon in the bathtub. It took about 5 seconds to get into the bathroom but not before the coon climb up on the counter and knocked over his wife's make up stuff. I pulled the dog out of there and help him throw a blacket over the coon to get it outside. His wife, standing there in her house coat, said she didn't want us to kill the coon cause it was just scared. Not nearly as scared as I was. The man did admit after things calmed down that he had a cook problem around his house!!!
yall are better trainers then me,i turned a coon out of a cage and instead of running like the other billions ive turned loose, this one turned on me and ate me up.i would have cried like a baby if i thought it would have helped any at all.lol
we had one as a pet for several years that would climb in the puppy pens and eat out of there self feeder......and slap the bagezzus out of any pup that came close......never raised pups that hated coons worse than the ones born when she was around :/
funny thing is the old dogs that had killed coons by the hundreds tended to ignore her
COONS
We have raised 3 baby coons (All Females). One was brought to us by one of the dogs while hunting. She would push the off & on Button on the TV OFF. (Old Floor Type like we use to have in its own cabinet). I would Turn TV back on and give her a little spank. She would throw a Temper Tantrum & turn it back on. Loved Captain Crunch. Put her in bathtub one time & closed door, when she was real little. She got into make-up. Things were everywhere. We kept her in a kennel off the ground, outside. Started leaving door open @ nite. When she was older & she finally left. Ya'lls Stories were too much.
