Who has hunted with Corey Mailes Rattler dog and Petes Bob

What is the good and the difference in these two stud dogs. What is Rattler reproducing. I here Bob is gone so no more pups unless seman has been stored.

Rattler, gets through the countryside and under a racoon. Big mouth on the ground and a belly up chop mouth treedog. Rattler is a good looking hound with lots of black on him. Not one bit fussy and will give ground to an alligator but attempts to stay hooked. Rattler is a Gr Nt grandson to JBS Chief. From a cross of Mailes Bob and Mailes Sue. Sue was one of the best reproducing females sired by Chief. Sue is the dam on one side and great grand dam on the other to Rattler. Sue goes back to Rudy which is from a (Rambler) SR bred female called Sue and Natural Blue Ben. Ben was from a cross I made that produced several top hounds around 1980.

Bob was one of the better hounds I have hunted with. Super trackdog, huge mouth and a get under a coon type hound.

Elmo get your light on and drive to Cory's house and go hunting with the dog.

Thanks! Someday I might just make that trip. Just exploring options down the road besides my own studs for Maggie being that she it out of Bob. This winter should make her into a fine cooner by her own rights.

Two of the better crosses on Rebel has been Lil, a full sister to Bob. Cory knew what he was doing when he crossed Sue back to Rebel and then Lil back to Rebel. From the two crosses there was Rex, deceased and Rip with four NC wins from Sue when he become steril and I quit hunting him in the hunts. Rex would have made Gr Nt easy. Flo is Gr Nt, Ruby has four wins and Shack has two wins. Both should finish to Gr Nt. We did attempt to make both crosses again but it didn't work out. There were only two pups from the Sue cross and I believe 10 from the Lil cross. One female and one male died as pups, I purchased an older male that was mis handled as a pup, he didn't make it. Two others are nice hounds that has never seen a hunt. That leaves two that I don't know about. I don't understand why you are still looking for something to cross on your gyp.

I got her to cross to Sounder, Magic and possibly Lumber to breed to first . But I have looked at Rebel and a few others for possible future crosses.
I breed every 3 years for me but I need to see what I'm sure my own males will through then I can go from there. I have noticed what you are doing over in Kansas for sure. I have paid close attention. You have got what I like that is for sure.

I have a 7 month old female off of Cory's Rattler dog and a full sister to Dennis' Rebel dog. I have not messed with her much at all yet. But season comes in here in a couple weeks and I will know more about her soon. I have heard a couple of her litter mates have treed their own coon. I believe my female maybe a bawl mouth tree dog, based on the video of her and her sisters treeing on coon drag that I seen. She is currently getting use to her new surroundings and owner. She is a good looking female. She has a good mouth, but I don't believe it will be anything overpowering. It will be interesting to see what she develops into.

Roger hope they through more ear than Maggie has. That is the only thing I don''t like. I want ear on my dogs. I know it's what is between them that counts but I have to look at that dog everyday.

I sold "Pip" at 8 weeks old to a fella. He didn't get the time to hunt him. Let him run around the house of a day some. He decided he had too many pups, so I bought him back about a month ago and haven't done anything with him yet. Other than let him get acclimated to me and the place again. He has a good bawl mouth and runs me nuts barking at squirrels above his pen of a day. I've never showed him a caged coon. So, that's where he's at presently. I do have a couple of sisters i've took out a few times that are starting to tree some with other hounds and went nuts on the 1st live coon they ever seen that we squalled out of a post oak. Looked like they had been fighting coon for years. Real gritty gyps. Treed good on the hang up. That's the scoop on the pup. Ain't been messed with in the woods and don't know anything. He's 7 months old so I ain't too worried about him just yet.

Anyone else have any experience with dogs out of Mailes Rattler? I saw a male out of Rattler while at Flora Illinois a few weeks ago.Don't remember who's dog it was,but it was sure a good lookin dog,and i believe he was a two year old.

I'd say try Rattler. If he putting looks on a dog like this male and good mouths and early starters then he could be good for Pokie.
