I have had a dog that chewed. I sold her I think she had 3 people buy her that was going to fix her and her 4th owner just hunts for fun. He has her and a me two dog to tree with her. Man I wish I could tell you how to fix your dog but as far as I know there is just some ways to slow it down.

you can have the vet cut their teeth down, I know a few people who have done that with fairly good sucess.

how old is your dog? what you feed dont make them chew on a tree when treeing that is a trait in the dog. sometimes a young dog will grow out of it sometimes they dont. does she bark on the tree or just chew on it?

i hunt a male that chews. you want break a dog from chewing. i can tell you that a dog chews worse when the weather is warmer. the way i see it as long as the two dont get you whats it hurt.

i have seen it alot in hot weather and dog gets hot and aggravated. i am with you long as the dog trees and you can find him the chewing dont make much difference. i have seen dogs make a coon bail out a tree pulling on vines.

I've heard it said and found it to be true in my experience, "A chewin dog is a stayin dog".

As long as it's not so you can't hunt her (ie it's so bad you have trouble getting to her or the 2 gets her in the hunts) its not gonna hurt much.

It's aggrivating, but I don't know much that will help it.

We have a 5 yr old male that chews and has since he started hunting. He is a stay put tree dog and always has been. The only time he doesn't stay is if another dog is running him off the tree and even then he gets back out of their way and trees as close to the tree as the other dog will allow. I have seen him jump up to get a vine and just hang in the air. Kind of scary to watch that for fear of him falling and hurting himself. But we have never had a problem with land owners getting mad at us about him chewing and yes it is a lot wrose in the summer time, but in comp. hunts. Everyone throws the 2 on him real fast but as of right now it has never got him. One of the best dogs we have ever had. Wouldn't trade him or sell him over something as minut as chewing. JMO
