The only way your gonna stop it is to lay fence down and cover it.

Put some mesh wire down ( maybe under the rock) so the can't dig it up. After they try to dig it up a few times they will stop. Or it has always worked for me anyway.

So I'm one of those people that shouldn't own a dog.

Dogs or not I won't own one that digs for very long... I've tried a few things like the crap in the hole, face in the hole, cut there nails way back, road them until there feet are worn off, pouring bleach/pine sol over the entire kennel... A digger will ALWAYS DIG! They might not be as bad, but I have never seen one stop. It it NOT always being bored (lack of hunting) either. I have one that after running 6 hrs straight, getting ate up by a coon, which broke one of his toes, come home, and within 2 hours had a his entire kennel dug up!!! For NO reason other than he LIKES to dig!

I have had the worst problem with Males. I've never had a problem but with one female.

I've gotten rid of QUITE a few dogs for this reason alone. I have nice gravel kennels as well, and it pisses me off I spend a ton of $$ on regraveling only to have them cover the entire kennel in dirt, dust and mud within a week.

I have two that are on the chopping block right now (both males) They are both extremely nice dogs. I have them on Runners because they have destroyed my kennels. It's only a matter of time before they are down the road. I can't stand walking outside and seeing them tied up looking like filthy junkyard dogs, standing amongst 800 random holes....

none

i got mine off the ground with a plywood floor maybe what you need to try

Posted by longshot on 04-20-2010 03:21 AM:

I've laid cattle panels down on the floor and that will stop it.

Maybe you should throw em an armadillar in their to play with. Maybe between the two they will dig you a footing around your pen and you can fill it with concrete. lol Just pokin fun i had the same problem and i put rubber in the bottom of my pens and stopped it . We got a conveyer belt factory around here close they throw away the bad belts thats how i got mine. Its easier on there feet than concrete and just as easy to wash out.

Yes they do, and if its not a lack of hunting that is causing the recreational digging, I would use the estwing......or .22, or whatever your comfortable with???
