Ron, I started one, but, the decent is nowhere near the word I'm thinking of....only been to the woods 5 times. We got about 3" and still spittin" snow.

Nuthin' like a coon treed on Liberal Creek
I did .... she wasn't the fastest maturing dog ever ... but we hit the fall season just right ... and she's bred in time that I can sit out the really bad stuff ... gooood doggy , lol.
I've started 2 but I wouldn't call them anything more than just started. I didn't get them hunted like I usually like to do until they were 11 mos. old or so.
They are 13 mos. old now and are showing improvement every night in the woods. The male is running and treeing consistently with an old dog and the female has treed a couple by her own and has split treed.

Started 3 one was 8 mo. old when I got it and it didn't make it.
One was 11 mo. old and he is running and treeing coon by himself real well. Still need lots of experience but does good and getting better all the time.
One was 2-3 months old ( don't remember for sure) but he has just started running and treeing his own coon and he just started running and treeing his own coon the last couple of days. He just turned 6 months old.
Oh and I just got a 4 weak old and she isn't doing much yet but I am really happy with what I see so far.

Started 4 pups rangeing from 5 mths old to 9 mths old.
The 5 month old impressed me the most.
Took to it like a 1.5 yr. old. I started to cut him loose by himself. He by far surpassed to other females by a long shot.
Started a nice Buck Creek Gyp this spring. She made a Nt Ch win one win townards grand in 5 hunts this october and november. Have shot down around 25 coon to her this fall before the weather got bad. Have left more in the tree than i have shot to her.

I started my dogs who will be 4 this coming May in December-January-February.... They both were treeing coons on their own by March. One more consistently than the other, but they were both doing the job in cold weather and snow.
When I talk about start... I mean drags, caged coon, and running with older hounds.
Some say you should NEVER start a dog in the winter, however, I had some pretty good success...
One of the best traits the dogs have is that they can do it the same in ALL kinds of weather. I personally believe that has to do with starting them in some of the roughest...
Just my 2 cents tho...
