ok, so i just purchased a used aluminum dog box and planned to have it shipped fedex from michigan to louisiana. i called fedex and used their automated system to get a quote of $88. they used the weight of the box to give me that price. i figured thats fine with me. well today i called and spoke to a human to arrange the pickup and pay for it. the lady asked me for the dimensions of the box and said that because of the size, they'd have to ship it freight. OVER $600! needless to say, im back at square one looking for a box. im thinking i might just go buy the aluminum and build it myself.

ok thanks i feel a little better now.

If you have a Tractor Supply near you, they'll ship from store to store for free...and I heard some have boxes. Might be worth checking.

Walmart Also Carries them !! But you have to request them to order it thru their Truck Box Supplier .. Thus no Shipping Charge

i looked at the tractor supply ones. not really what i was after. i have a couple boxes in mind but im gonna have to make sure about the shipping.

Check with some of the dealers sights, I saw a dealer the other day, that would ship for free. I don't remember which one, but I would investage, with the cost of the box and free shipping, it can't be too bad a deal. Tom

I just bought a Regal box from Ohio and the shipping to my house was $140 or so but 45 less if shipped to business. Michigan to Lousiana is a LONG way to ship though.

UPS said they couldnt ship freight because it's too light and couldnt ship ground because of the dimensions, lol. they flat out couldnt ship it she said.

Mossgin I have no idea what kinda box you're looking for but, I bought one a few years back from Unique Truck Accessories for box price + $100 shipped to a local store that I asked the owner if I could have something shipped to his business. May check into it.
