I was wondering, because i was turning one loose the other night from a trap and as I was putting a stick through the door, the coon jumped up and bit the tip of my ring finger.

You never heard of putting a collar on a coon.

Yea...i guess i hadn't either but i got some northerner friends that do it. helps when setting drags

Last night I was helping a friend get some coon out of his buildings. We ended up catching a sow and 4 kittens. In the process one of the kits bit me on the nipple while I was carrying it over to a cage. Those kits were already starting to get some size to them. Hurt like hell. Brought the whole family to a different timber about 10 miles from there and turned them loose.

Twice now, once in the late '60s and again in the mid '90s. The last time they made me go through the rabies treatment.

Mine seems to be healing up fine, I've been trying to keep it clean. I've got 2 small bite marks one on each side of my ring finger nail. I've always wondered how strong their bite was, now I know LOL

Yep, been bit once!

had one take a chunk outta a brand new frogleg boot and still left teeth marks in my foot. My own fault though, I was trying to help a young pup that caught it on the ground.

Most insurances will not cover the rabies vaccine without an exposure. We recently paid for a researcher working with bats to get her vaccine and it run over $600.00.
