Feeding raw
Anybody do it? Pros and Cons?
The only negative about it is the availability of the raw items and possibly the time of preparing and cleaning up. I fed raw to a couple dogs for a extended period of time and they did extremely well on it! The easiest thing for me to use was chicken and I worried a lot about the bacteria left by raw chicken and how it could effect me or loved ones. I even had a complete blood panel done on my dog after 6 mo of using it and everything was in good parameters. The dogs barely drink any water , look like lean strong athletes and performed well. IMO , the absolute best way to feed and care for one.

Very interesting. Thanks!
I own a slaughter house and I can bet you there is nothing better during the winter. Summer time though it spoils really quick so you best have a freezer to store it in.

I feed raw (offal) beef, lamb, goat, swine to all my dogs.....if u got a locally owned butcher/slaughter shop that would be your best source.
I am fortunate my butcher slaughters .
I ask him if he can save me sum offal...when I need it ...he calls me ....I go get it .......28¢ a pound....I buy 250 -300 lbs at a time.
It takes some time to cut it up and freeze it, about 2 hours of prep time...300lbs (25-35% being fat ) usually last me 1.5 mth
Been useing raw for about 10 yrs. ...
P.S......while your negotiateing for raw don't forget the FAT.......
I feed raw... I feed a premade raw with some extra meat added
Cons
-Cost
-Freezer space needed to keep it
-Prep time and work
Otherwise I love feeding raw. They drink less water, **** less and look great on it

Im a farmer and I feed raw beef during the winter when available. The price of bull calves lately has been poor so I just feed them to the dogs. Cut the hide and the dogs do the rest.
I prolly need to explain my feeding a bit more. I didn’t just buy chicken breast or hamburger and feed it. I used chicken quarters (whole) organic kelp raw eggs some type of organ meat (I used mostly chicken hearts but sometimes liver) (shell included) and 3-4 times a week I fed each dog a can of mackerel .

Pam Johnson. I assume you're selling Dairy Bull calves. They are not worth much here either.
