Lol. You were young and dumb and just thought coon hunting was the greatest show on earth. Coon hunting means absolutely nothing to most people and never did. I admit that I used to live, breathe and eat just to coon hunt every chance I got, but I was one of the very few that really cared that much for coon hunting. Most young men had no use for coon hunting then or now, back when I was a young boy, most of the young guys did not coon hunt, it was an older man's sport. Seems like nothing much has changed these days, a few young guys coon hunt, but it mostly the older guys that coon hunt, what few of us are left. Maybe the chance of winning the big bucks will entice some if the younger guys to start coon hunting,, but it was and still is the love of the sport that keeps someone coon hunting. Just my 2 cents in the subject. Dave

I count my blessings too...

A beautiful, wonderful family with 3 grandchildren that have taught me what true unconditional love is.
Some great friends, some many of which I have met through this great sport.
Dogs that truly can be man's/womans best friend - we can learn so much through their loyalty and love of us.
A roof over my head in a house I call home.
Food in my belly.
Every other blessing is just gravy as their are many who do not have these simple blessings.

Jen I agree. Hard to count all the blessings. Grandkids are high on the list. A marvelous woman as my wife for nearly 50 years. Sons I am very proud of. God has provided a nice home and enough money so I can be retired. Health enough that I can enjoy retirement. Somewhere on the list but really not at the top are two coonhounds that I really enjoy hunting. Friends that let me hunt on their property. I'll stop there but the blessings don't.

I loved both of your posts, what both of you posted are the things that truly matter in our lives. God is great and the most valuable things we have in life are things that can not be bought, but are FREE for those of us that accept them. God, family and the simple things in life are priceless in their value to each of us. Happy holidays to each and every one and may every one have blessings to many to count. Dave

Thank you for your invitation, that means more to me than you can put in words. If the good Lord let's me live long enough, I will try and come out sometime and hunt with you, nothing I would like better. Dave

It was awful, Seem we was lost more than we knew where we was. Looking back on some of the places we hunted today, I wonder how dad walked me around in that 10 acre block all night anyway. Maybe he just didn’t want to go home to mom!! Lol happy hunting fellors

I wish I could turn back time and walk with my papa threw the woods just one last time. I know his with me evernight when I go. He has the best seat to watch from now.

My daughter is showing interest in the dogs and it makes me want to go even more. We work are dogs almost everyday on the bench. Its become part of are routine. To tell you the truth she is pretty dang good to. Where hitting up a hunt this weekend at battle of the breeds in Ada Oklahoma. Going to try and bring some new wall decorations home.

When upon life’s billows you are tempest-tossed,
When you are discouraged, thinking all is lost,
Count your many blessings; name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord has done.

Count your blessings;
Name them one by one.
Count your blessings;
See what God hath done.
Count your blessings;
Name them one by one.
Count your many blessings;
See what God hath done.

Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings; ev’ry doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by.

Count your blessings;
Name them one by one.
Count your blessings;
See what God hath done.
Count your blessings;
Name them one by one.
Count your many blessings;
See what God hath done.

When you look at others with their lands and gold,
Think that Christ has promised you his wealth untold.
Count your many blessings; money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven nor your home on high.

Count your blessings;
Name them one by one.
Count your blessings;
See what God hath done.
Count your blessings;
Name them one by one.
Count your many blessings;
See what God hath done.

So amid the conflict, whether great or small,
Do not be discouraged; God is over all.
Count your many blessings; angels will attend,
Help and comfort give you to your journey’s end.

Count your blessings;
Name them one by one.
Count your blessings;
See what God hath done.
Count your blessings;
Name them one by one.
Count your many blessings;
See what God hath done.
