Here is anouther idea.

Because of bad bones my body just don't want to do what I want it to no more so my hunting leans tword the pleasure hunting side and if I got a dog I really like and I am feeling good I will hit the hunts and I know there are a lot of guys like me. Why not keep track of the senior cast 55 and older through the year registered , ntch , Grntch hunt together and have a senior reunion at the end of the year ?

Bwcause 55 is not senior.

What !!!!!!! In pkc it is that's good enough for me I am 59 I can't out run those 20 yr olds no more heck Jim I don't want to hunt in a wheelchair I would like to enjoy it a little bit lol.

I know guys that are 49 and cant run 20 yards. And the only time i have ever seen a cast run to a tree was at a Youth squirrel hunt.
How many resturants in Ga. give senior discounts to 55 year olds? None around here, it starts 62 and most are 65.

Just hassling you buddy, senior is in the mind of the beholder. Me and my buddy Marv Schmucker are still holding out for SxS casts. Give us SxS casts and we are back all out. Then I could chitcan these sorry azz family guys handling for me now that cant make a hunt because their kid has a soccer game. Just makes me wanna puke.

Jim kinda the reason I started that other thread got a young man was setting in the break room the other day said he could not pay his bills he is over 6' tall I asked him how many hours you work he said 32 I told him to get a second job he said you don't understand I don't want to work two jobs I told him your are preaching to the choir son they used to call me old time and a half I always figured when I was on overtime I was making what I was worth they had to make me go home and I still had time to hunt that's why I got plates and screws all over me now but I still got a job lol.

I agree, younger generation doesn't want to work, they are looking for hand out.i am only 38 but I been working since I was 14, I have a hard time finding help to hire now, a senior cast would be ok if enough them came out

Jim there are many food establishments in Georgia that offer discounts to us seniors at age 55. I do doubt many of us would take to a senior cast thing, which I have never hunted in, and its nothing personal to anyone, but you are not going to win a hunt under the current format hunting from the seniors cast. Around here you get slowed down way to much to gain points necessary to win. Yes I know full well about the slow down young man thing, but having to sit on a stump for 15 minutes to let someone rest some is no fun for anyone. I know this is a proposed new category, and it could work, but I am not thinking there will be many takers here in SE GA. When I get to a point that I can not go, I will stop, just as I did when this back limited movement in the legs. Hopefully the surgery has fixed that, but I am afraid there just is no fix for getting old. Yes, the sport will likely die when the old group is gone, because we haven't figured out how to get the dogs to the woods and back while the handlers sit in the air conditioning calling them on a smart phone.

I hunted in quite a few in chkc and you will find out someday if they instigate it the no leash lock with today's hounds makes for a lot more enjoyable hunt never had a bad cast might have been I beat the owner of that kc regularly aint that right redgy lol.

In Holmesville, Chuck got on a Sr cast. He'll be 64 later this yr, but has a bad knee. He said the oldest hunter was 81 and he walked faster and could hear better than him. Hearing (lack of) is our biggest reason not to go to nite hunts.

I never forget the time I went hunting with Tim ball and he had that transmission fluid funnel I went to laughing he said try it you would not believe how good it worked I might need one myself lol.

We might need a couple, too.

I heard yadkintard has been hanging at the nursing home looking for a "senior" cast.

Seriously, I think that would be a good idea. They used to have senior casts in pkc back when I was hunting them a lot but I think they were for 65 and over. At a big added hunt you may see 1 to 2 cast but that was it. I know 55 yr old guys that layed brick and block all their life and we're in way worSr shape than most 70 yr Olds. Heck, I'm 38 and feel like I would be better off on a senior cast haha.

Not to change the subject but i would think the no leash lock rule changes the whole ball game. A babbling loner wouldn't fare as well as they do in the other KC's. Does that seem to be true in those hunts? I would think you could take a lower strike dog with some hustle and do well there. A real coon dog will win in any kc but it seems like that rule would change some things.

Lol josh up until about 5 years ago even after all my surgeries I was the guy that walked 100 yrds ahead of everybody. I think what kills it for me is these dogs hunt so deep so fast now that us older guys know those dogs haven't hunted that ground that fast about a 1and1/2 yrs ago I proved it just like dark did with a no leash lock you can put a stop to that bs. I had a good freind that hunted blueticks he stayed right on their butts hooting them every breath somtimes plumb out of hearing we would tree a coon or two and have to wait on him to come back when he would get back I would say how many did you tree he would say treed a den or had a heck of a race and they came back must have caught it on the ground lol.
