What shhould be done ?

Dogs A, B,C withdraw leaving D to hunt 50 min by himself , he has 50+ . They turn D loose and he doesnt want to go hunting so someone turns one of the other dogs loose . This is the story i heard from a reliable source . D goes back to the club and gets a first place win . I say the dog should have had the fifteen put on just like everyone else will say but the stuff that goes on surprises me .

What other dog? Even a yard dog would be interference!

That should not be. Any witnesses to this/such tactics should report the matter to the UKC.

Tim is that red dog getting lazy on you again? just kidding. Thats a bad deal, and in my opinion, the owner of dog D, and the one that turned another dog loose.....no wait, if the whole cast was in on it, they should all take some time off to think on it. Thats clearly a rule infraction, and flagrant at best.

That is the problem. Good people don't want to start a fuss so the others get away with things like this. If you won't say nothing to the CAST or the MOH then they shouldn't mention it on here.

We about had the same thing in my last hunt. It was a 4 dog cast. 3 dogs were in the hole bad enough they wanted to withdraw. The one dog that had a chance if it could get treed hadn't done anything all night(not track or tree) but stayed gone.
The dog that hadn't done anything was rideing with a friend that had one of the other dogs.
He wanted to withdraw but didn't becouse the other two did and he knew that buddies dog wouldn't hunt by itself. I think we had about 15 minutes or so.
I put them on a place were you can get a fast coon. The dog that hadn't done anything all night got second strike and first tree all within 50 yds of the truck. But it was done by the rules and he won. LOL

I was on a NiteCH cast the other night and I'm not sure this was handled right. Dogs A,B & C are scratched within 15 minutes...treed a opossum right outta the gate. Dog D takes a minus on strike because he came back to us. Dog D now has 1hr 45mins left to hunt. He is recast alone and does nothing for 10 minutes and the handler walked him to a feeder and he struck and came back again...now at 125-. 3rd drop the dog stands around for 10minutes again, winds a coon and treed it 40 yards from us!! (now at 100+). The Judge tells everyone to sign the card and the hunt's over with almost 60 minutes left in the 2 hours. Was this handled correctly or is Dog D required to hunt the entire 2hrs?

Did it take you an hour to get back to the truck. ( :

The thing that gets me about crap like that is the fact that I wouldn't even want to tell anyone my dog won.
I have a win on one of them(first place) but every time I tell anyone I have to explain and laugh about how I got it with a pup about a year old that didn't do squat till a guy pulled his pup. The others, one had messed up to much at that point and the other one ran out of hearing every time it was dumped (but allways had a coon) we wood just have to call time out to find the dog.
So mine treed one coon and wound up with first place win. Never have hunted him in that registry since.

Definantly didn't take an hour to get back the truck because I stood at the truck to keep my dog quiet in the box and I shined the tree from the tailgate and could see the coon! I wouldn't hesitate to say we had more than an hour left to hunt at that point. The handler of dog D was happy with his 100+ because he knew his dog wouldn't leave his feet and would be scratched on the 15 eventually. He may have won the whole hunt for all I know....It was actually an RQE hunt.

I dont know how you get to where your hunting NTCH. and dont know that you must hunt the entire 120 minutes but i suppose its possible. The right thing to do would have been to tell them either they hunt it out or the MOH. of hounds was going to know exactly what happened.

It might not had been a NITECH. He said it was at an RQE but if a person questions something he should ask the MOH if it is handled that way or not. Just so he knows next time.
RQE...........Make a heck of a world champion. Who wants to breed to it first. RITF

i know you're "supposed" to hunt the entire 2 hours, but of course myself, the judge and the other handler were ready to leave after we were scratched but we were sportsman and hung in there for the lone dog to hunt. This dog wouldn't leave our feet and shoulda been scratched and he probably ended up winning this RQE and will go on to the Zones!!...just funny how luck plays out sometimes. Of course I wasn't gonna cause a conflict on the "1 hour" shortened hunt because I was scratched anyway and didn't really care at that point.

YEP, don't complain when you have to hunt with the same dog at zone...................No ruckes just a ? on a score card. They would had gladly scratched the dog rather than to get cought.
