Big Game Bred Hounds

Had a few guys ask about this cross and figure I should put a few photos up. These seven week old pups came from my Red Choco and Rui Li female, and go back to Hoffmeister redbones on one side and southern Utah Big Game hound cross bred dogs on the other. They have my red Ike, my blue Ryan and my red Lionheart dogs bred heavily into them and therefore should be gone ones.

Where the red fern grows
Got lucky just happened to pick it up in one of those $5 movie bins at walmart.
As they say, "Gotta Love it!"

Will you be keeping any? If so that could be three generations hammering down a track together. Some good times ahead!!
I too have seven week pups but unfortunately for me the father passed away in a hunting accident 2 weeks ago so will miss out on running the two together.

Sorry to hear that you lost that dog......
I do have two, two year old hounds from the same cross that belong to my son and run with my hounds. Most of the time that puts Ike (12), Choco (10) and those two dogs (2) in the same pack and so it's a three generation thing.........

Hey Ike how close do u breed to keep ur line goin? I just did a niece to a half uncle cross pups due end of the month , I've hunted with this line on dogs for the last ten yrs an wouldn't be disappointed if they came bk like any of the ones I've seen an hunted with.
Sounds like a good close cross and they should be good ones for you. I'm certainly no expert but was told 75/25 same blood is bout as close as a guy wants to breed, which is the cross you just made. I have bred half brother/half sister which is 50/50 as well which makes a pretty good hunting dog. I know a few who claims they have bred littermates before but not me, as that one crosses the line with 100 percent same blood.
Good luck and let us know how they work for you in the coming years...........
Ike

I have eight hounds in my yard and have not made that decision yet? I do have a pup left and may bring him home, who knows? There is a limit, however, to how many dogs a guy can handle, hunt and feed..........

There is defiantly a limit on hounds that a guy can handle and hunt correctly. And some times pups take up more time than an established pack.
Moved the pups home on the weekend and made me think how your litter
where going
