Slick Tree proplem!PLEASE HELP!!

i just got this 4 year old English female from a good friend of mine. I hunted with him a whole lot with this dog when she younger like 1 or 2 years old and she would run and tree her own coon and be 100% accurate on every tree.... BUT when she turned 3 years old he quit huntin. So he finally just now gave me this dog and she is 4 years old. had her out with my old dog and they treed 3 coons and shot them all out to her to try and get her back on track.. Then ive been taking her by herself and she has slick treed every night for 3 nights in a row now.. Any tips you guys can give me to help her??? Thanks from your frieneds at Britton's Midnight Havoc Kennels!

I say hunt her for three weeks instead of three nights, then form an oppinion of her. Sounds to me like she's been on the box for a while and needs some tunnin up.

ALL POINTS ABOVE ARE GOOD

Stand at the base of the tree and send her on, stand right there until she goes on and hunt her and give her a chance, but most of all dont encourage her on a slick and dont snap her up and lead her away, make her go on and finish the track. GOOD LUCK

Don't give her every coon she trees! This sometimes will make them a little "TREE HAPPY"!!!

slick trees

Are these trees slick without a doubt. If so get a switch and send her on from that tree. A dog that has been layed up will get rusty. Can you hit a baseball as far as when you were younger and practiced regulary

just hunt the dog back into shape, switch her on the bad pet her a little on the good, dont give her many coon. I will only give my dog a coon if I make a bad shot and it hits the ground running. may work but all dogs are different and have to be treated as such.

You got some very good info on here. I would not shoot any coon out to her this sometimes cause them to be tree happy. Watch her Learn her then you will know a little more about her. Watch when you shot a coon out to her then recast her how far did she go befor she got treed ? Was she looking to get treed when you turned her loose. A LOT of people think the more Coon's you shot out to your dogs the better they get well I have seen the negative effect of that many times. Watch her learn her 3 nites will not tell you anything hunt her for 4 weeks every nite then see how she looks....Good luck....

Hunt her hard and whoop her butt off of those slicks, others have already mentioned. May take a few weeks but I'd say she'll get back to the way she was. Good luck!
