Spring Bear in North Idaho

We had a good hunt this weekend. After about an hour race, they got him up a tree. It took me an hour hike up the side of the mountain to get to them. I need to work with them on getting treed a little closer to the road next time. LOL

Dustin

I bet that if you would start jogging up the mountain leading a couple of hounds every morning you both would get in to fighting shape in no time. The bear wouldn't have a chance <LOL>

Thanks for the replies everyone. I just got my computer back.

Scott,
Yes, I mostly rig them. I sometimes will run off of bait or road hunt them. But where we are hunting is a long ways from home and it's difficult to find enough time to keep a bait going. Whiplash has developed into a fine rig dog, so it's been nice to not have to worry about having baits going. It's also a lot less work. LOL. Gambler is coming along nicely in the rigging department and has been starting the tracks this spring. By the end of the season I expect him to be a complete and reliable rig dog also.

Hopefully, Clyde, Tremor, and Cruiz, have inherited some of Whiplash's rigging ability for you guys. She's the best one I've had in a long time.

Rig dogs

Nice pictures Dustin. I think Clyde should make a nice strike dog,he struck some tracks last year while we were running,he just needs some straightening out.We have that extra mounth of training season this year were we can't run baits,so I'm going to need him to strike some tracks for me.I'll keep you posted on how he doe's.Good luck.
P.S.Thanks for the heads up Jess.

This is my busy season at work, so I don't get to hunt as much as I would like to. I guess that's the trade off for getting to hunt all winter. LOL. We got out ran a couple times, but hopefully we can get something up this weekend.
