Moving to Charlottesville, VA

I'm moving to VA and would like to meet some people over there to hunt with. May even like to join a club. Anyone in the area please let me know. I don't come on this site much but you can give me a call at 406-598-0601

There's a nice Club

in Goochland.I've hunted at that club only once,but I enjoyed myself though.The guys I met there were real nice and made me feel welcome.Goochland is only maybe 20 miles east of Charlottesville.There's also a club in Charlottesville too.Not sure exactly where though.I live in Virginia Beach and you are more than welcome to come down and hunt with me and my buddies anytime.My # is 757-339-3454.

you're both certainly welcome.Like I said,I thoroughly enjoyed myself the time i went up there to hunt.My dog didn't do too good that night,but I still had a good time.Which is the #1 reason I go to these hunts in the first place.If my dog does well,then that's just icing on the cake.That dog I took up there that week-end made GR.NT.CH. on Nov. 1st,2008.I'm working real hard on gettin'my female ready for the hunts now.I don't think it'll be much longer.Hope to see y'all again soon.

DAYMONEY,anything east of the blue ridge wich puts you on the border somewhat allowes for deer hunting with dogs and most of the clubs are that way,seeing your from mt.that may not be your cup of tea but dont knock it till ya try it,you will find alot of good people that do it that way.i hunt in buckingham wich isnt that far from where you'll be either.i also belong to a club in staurts draft wich is about 30 minutes west of you the only use of dogs up that way is bear hounds and there is alot of state and national land up that way. give me a buzz too ill be glad to help ya out

My dog is coming along slowly but surely and it sucks that I have to move cause it's my understanding you can't hunt coons till October there. I've got a puppy too that I'll be bringing out. Hey daymoney,

You can hunt coon all year long in Va.,I think east of Route 29.And I believe Route 29 runs right through Charlottesville.You just can't kill 'em.Kill season is from Oct.- Mar.Get up with some of them fellas at the Goochland Club.I'm sure they would welcome you into the fold.LOL!They are a great group of guys.

Thanks a bunch, the regulations I found on the game and fish web site were pretty vague. They're vague here too, I'm constantly calling Fish and Gut to get the skinny.

That makes me happy that I won't have to lay the hounds up for 4-5mos. My almost 4mos old pup trailed and treed a coon last night. I only took him out to explore in the dark because my other dog is hurt. I was pretty happy with him.

I'm moving sometime in June, we're moving about 15min out of Charlottesville on a little 150acre horse ranch.

You will find that the deer and coonhunting will be just what your looking for I live west of the Blue RIDGE but hunt that area alot. THANKS...

Actually its East of the Blue Ridge and East of Rt29.....

I've hunted out of the Charlottesville club several times always had a nice hunt. Your more than welcome to come up this way for a hunt anytime!!
