Actually, all the walker officials got together from up north and they have decided to change things up slightly. There's gonna be like a long tube/ cage approx. 50 foot long. Like a 50 foot rolling cage. Connected to a 8 foot pole in the ground. The coon will be released into the tube from the far end and the dog's will be turned loose. The one that trees the coon first and barks the most wins. At first they were gonna connect the tube to a real tree instead of a pole but they decided not to make it unattainable for all those good competition walker dogs up there. It will be in Indiana as usual.

You can tell the Bluetick guys didn't make the proposal, it wouldn't have been 50 feet long, maybe 25 feet or so. That way the Blue dogs would have a shot at fininshing the track in a two hour hunt.
Poor misguided smokey7 sheep
Sheep, one of these days you may stumble across a dog capable of treeing coons & shining like a silver dollar in North Ga. or Northern Indiana. I believe there may be a few out there, some are even Walkers! LOL There may even be an old blue dog or two capable as well! LOL When you do stumble across one of these dogs, you will know it, and it will change your definition of a coon dog. It may even motivate you to enter a hunt. Those kind of dogs will make a poor handler (like myself) come out on the winning end now & again. In the meantime, until you enter the hunts on a regular basis I don't think you have much latitude to comment on them and be taken seriously (like myself).
I hope your young Bullet II male is that dog for you! Keep on pluggin, not all UKC hunts are "The Devil"!

I haven't hunted with a Bluetick in along time that could run a track for two hours. Sure would be nice to listen to one that could !!!

Not at all I catch a coon and put tennis shoes on him so he can't climb. If I ever get one that can outrun a bluetick, I'm going to see if I can get an endorsement from Nike.
No they usually just get treed, lol

LOL
No feathers ruffled here sheep! I'm still trying to find a dog to win one of these back yard woodlot hunts, let alone be concerned about where the World Hunt will be! LOL Maybe one day one of those year round 95% accurate dogs will show up on the door step of the house. Then a person sure could talk about treeing coons & winning those big hunts with some authority! LOL
I heard tennessee too. I say they need to bring it down south to the swamps. If a dog can tree a coon down here they can tree one anywhere. In south mississippi afther a two hour comp. hunt the dogs are bleedin an so are the handler its ruff down here. The delta here in mississippi would be a great place to hunt its wide open in the woods with plenty of coons i also heard are zone semifinals is gonna be in the delta.

Tennessee sounds great to me
My kind of country, rolling ground, and not lousy with coon. low scores and rough hunting, sounds just like home to me.
