Hunt question
RQE Hunt, 4 dog cast, Dogs A,B,C,D are struck in, Dogs A,B,C,D are treed, cast gets to tree and all dogs are handled at the tree, Handler of dog C says dog B was off the tree and calls for a vote, Handler of dog A (Judge) and Handler of dog C say he was off the tree, Other 2 handlers say he was on the tree, Coon was seen so how would you score dog B Strike an tree points??
The judges vote carries more weight on this one.

Re: Hunt question
quote:Judges decision, it takes majority of the cast to over turn his decision. If 2 to 2 vote then it goes with however the judge called it . As a judge myself I always call how many dogs to be handle at arriving at the tree . That away it clarifies how many is treed . Then I would minus whoever. Always call how many dogs to be handled !

I was just tagging along as my health hasn’t let me enter or keep up yet, but they deleted dog B’s strike and tree, I didn’t think that was the rite call but I had no say so.
I've seen Judges do this a lot , always say handle your dog . Then minus your dog but to me it's wrong way to handle the situation. If you make that call 1st then say handle ( how many ) dogs . It will eliminate a lot of Arguments.

What would happen if you walked to the tree and a hunters dog met him off the tree and the judge said "handle your hounds" would the dog get minus if it didn't get a chance to go back? I'm only talking a few feet here . Even if the handler said the dog would meet him.
You didn't mention how far off the tree he was or if he went back and treed. Did the judge and the other cast member that voted he was off the tree use the "he wasn't under the umbrella of the tree" rule or "he put his nose on the ground on the way back to the tree" rule.

Number 1 to begin with the judge should have made the decision that dog B was off the tree and he should have minused it then upon arrival at the tree if someone disagreed then they can question it and cast votes. Why would someone question a call and have a vote if the judge was in agreance with them? This was all handled a$$ backwards. It sounds like the judge just let someone else influence him and take control of his cast. That said it does take majority to overturn a judges call so B should have been minused if the judges call was that B was off the tree. Where your cast probably got the delete from was by applying the rule on deleting trees on tie vote if half the cast voted to circle a tree and half voted to minus then the tree is deleted.

You preaching to the choir, I sit at the truck, they hunted from tree to tree, I never seen the cast till after they hunted 2 hours, when they got back to the truck they was telling me about there hunt and this drop came up, all I said was I don’t think that was scored correctly that the judge overrides a 2-2 vote and dog B should had been minused then I shut up LOL, I just posted it on here to check my self.
Let me guess dog a and dog c were buddies?
