Here is a ? for the MOH. on here

If a man comes to you at a event and tells you a guy is getting in his face and trying to get a fight started and then while the guy is talking to you the other man comes right in front of you and does it again and the man that was coming to tell you about it stands with his hands behind his back don't budge what would you do ? Would you threat to bar both or take care of the trouble? This issue wasn't handled very professional because he was buddy's with the one raising Cain? And the guy trying to fight was a judge in field trial? I don't know all the rules and the proper way this should have been handled?

This sounds more of a club responsibility than a MOH's. A club officer should have been informed of this and the club should have addressed the situation.

I guess it was home cooking, I just stood and took it 2 different times nose to nose didn't flinch or make threats a field trial isn't worth that and it wasn't my dog just handled it for a girl! He even got in her face and reach to his pockets multiple times and I felt threatened. But o well never been much on the comp hunts and this is why you get one stuck to you by the buddy system!

"If a man comes to you at a event..."

If a man comes to you at a UKC event and does what you are saying this is a category 1 "wrongdoing" as UKC states in the red book. The key word being UKC...but you don't say that in your post. It falls under the section entitled "Misconduct and Discipline" on page 115. It goes on to say "all persons present on the grounds of a UKC event during the event hours are subject to the jurisdiction of the UKC...yada, yada, yada.
There is a lot more to it and you really need to get the redbook and read all about it. Unfortunately, these things sometimes happen at a UKC event. There is a remedy and it should be reported to UKC. You do not have to report misconduct or threats and intimidation within a certain time at the event itself. Sometimes it is better to diffuse the situation and report it later when you get home.
Both the MOH and the club officers if they either witnessed or were made aware of the incident should have handled it.
I will tell you that in all my years as a MOH I have never seen much come out of these situations...all I have ever witnessed was that UKC usually writes a letter to the club warning them that they should not be surprised if attendance falls off at their events if they continue to allow similar situations to go unchecked.
One thing interesting in the Redbook {Official UKC Coonhound Rulebook}...they don't really clarify when the "event hours" start and when they conclude.

It was a ukc nite hunt event. But I wasn't local so I was a outcast and I was threatened to be bared! I ask the president to please handle it and he set their scared to move all he done was hollar he would bar both

I am sorry to hear that this type of activity took place. This is one of those things that you hope you never hear about much less witness or be involved in. Knowing what you can do about it before it happens, the procedure and rules is definitely a step in the right direction just in case.
The best advice I could possibly give anyone wanting to attend UKC licensed events is to buy yourself the above mentioned Official Rulebook from UKC.
You could ask a MOH or club official to see their copy while at an event, but I don't know of any rule that says they have to let you "borrow" it. So just buy your own...it has way more info in it that what they have room for on the back of a scorecard. UKC might post this book on the web somewhere, I don't know, I haven't seen it anywhere. Never really looked either.
Even this book cant answer every question...I have one right now as a result of this thread. When does the "event hours" start and end and who set these times???
One thing I would say, if after you traveled to a club to attend their event, paid the entry fee, probably bought something from their kitchen and was still made to feel like an outcast...I wouldn't be going back to that club and I would make sure to let others know about this as well.

If it happens in a cast. He will be scratched and written up. If it happens at the club. He should be written up. And depending on how severe it is could be barred by ukc. Thats one thing I will not put up with. No one should be harrased , threatened or intimidated by anyone. If they wanna fight stay home. . cause I know this . if I report someone doing this and its not addressed and continued. I will defend myself. And if I get barred cause no one would write the guy up. Than so be it. Cause I'm not gonna tolerate it. I don't do it to anyone .and I expect the same from them.

Field trial

Posted by T Burton on 03-17-2014 08:50 PM:

You no I've thought about filming it with my I phone even have it on when a question comes back to moh turn it on and start filming it will either defuse it or be it's own witness for someone to look at from ukc nobody wants to be on there for the big dogs to look at it It would make the club put a end to it or be subject to being viewed by some one else

"Even this book cant answer every question...I have one right now as a result of this thread. When does the "event hours" start and end and who set these times???"

I wrote a e-mail to Allen Gingerich and his answer to this question"

Event hours are defined as; On day of event; Event Hours Start: when the first person arrives at the grounds. Event Hours End: when the last person leaves the grounds. Event entry or return deadlines are not considered.

Hopefully, that makes it very clear that anyone on the grounds on the day of the event is subject to a code of conduct. The term "hours" is likely what causes any misinterpretation.

Just a quick FYI.....
