try hunting her hungry and keeping food in your pocket, when ever she does come in feed her a little bit of grub.

Ive heard all good things about the alpha, probably to early to tell about the durability yet.

I've heard that the dog tek works well to, downside is the obv no maps or bells and whistles ,

Seen a used alpha on here a few days ago for 650, I should have bought it

I'm very impressed with the alpha so far.. Put the Birdseye view on it and it is awesome.. If you have a dog thats hard to catch you can go in and turn on l.e.d. lights on his collar so you can see him.. If he won't come then when you call.. give him a little tickle with the shocker.. It is a great tool for hunting and training... Also we have not had any issues with lost signals with all stock equipment.. Seems to stay locked on alot better than the older units..If you can afford one they are worth it..

It is a satellite view ..like google earth... instead of just a map it is the satellite view looking down on the area your at with the roads and landmarks an elevations all named and visible with your dog trail.. You can see exactly where your dog is if he is by a house or pond or out in an open field...example we had one cutting through the country the other night and seen he was heading for a house back in the middle of the section that we didn't even know was there so we got around there and cut him off...The satellite view seems to be about 5-6 years old but it still is 100 times better than just a map..You have to pay 29.99 for a one year membership and you can download any where in the U.S on to your Garmin.. You will have to buy a micro chip to put in your alpha because it doesn't have very much memory left on its storage.. But once you download it you have it for life so you got a year to load all the areas your ever gonna hunt..I bought 16GB card for 12.99 and put about 4 states on it and still have more than half of the memory still left...So for about 45 bucks and several hours sitting a the computer downloading you can cover everywhere your ever gonna hunt.. If your gonna go to a big hunt in Texas or wherever just hook it back up to your computer and put as much or as little of the state your going to on there as long as you have a big enough memory card..

Alpha

You can not use your DC30 or DC40 with the Alpha.

I'm getting me a Alpha in about a month, man are they expensive.

Thats the bad news.. when you switch to a alpha you have to get new collars.. because it has the shocker built into them...it won't work with any of the old collars 30 or 40.. so unless everybody is using an alpha you can't track any other dogs..

I don't know if the Alpha has tone ability but the tone can fix your problem. Some people train with an ecollar and garmin. We don't like to shock a dog while on a coon so....
You teach the dog to come when the tone button is used, do this in a field during the day. Then at night when you push the tone, watch the garmin, if they don't turn around and head back, tone again, wait 30 seconds, if they don't respond, start using low level shock and increase as needed. Anyway they learn to come no matter what when you push the tone button and you have a good handle on the dog. This can come in handy if they are headed for a highway too. The end result is they don't think you are shocking them for running coon, you are shocking them to come back. It works good. The tone works better than calling them because your dog may be upwind and can't hear you from a mile away, but a good ecollar tone can reach them.
The end results I've seen once the dog is trained, they figure this out and 99% of the time all you have to do is tone them, no shock is needed.

The alpha has everything...Track..Tone...Shock...Turn on lights on the collar....Measure distance...... and a 100 other things I don't know how to work yet!!
Redeyes.. It will not work with dc30 or 40.. you have to get new collars specifically for the alpha....
