Anyone hunting this Va snow?

Anyone had any luck the last 2 weeks?

We went Saturday night for the first time in almost a month. Dogs struck a decent track but ran it in a hole.

How is it going? Sat night, first time in a month. First drop no track 2nd drop descent track and had the coon in the top of a big oak. Wasn't bad. Am trying again tonight for a drop or two. how is sheriff doing?

Never ask a man what kind of dog he has. If he has a hound he'll tell you, if he does not, you don't want to shame him by asking.

We still have about 12 in. snow here. These mountains are too steep and slick for me to get out there in this ****. Wish I had some flatter ground to hunt! Id be right in there!!! Thanks, WES

Chester Cooner.....Sheriffs doing great!! He had a coon each time out the last three times, till this snow. I took him out a few times in the last week, but on the snow he can't seem to smell em. He runs in the creek and you can tell he's on a hot track, but as soon as it leaves the water and crosses snow, he can't do much. I do like him having a hot nose, generally I don't have to walk over a quarter to a half mile to get to him treed. Have you hunted with Sally lately? I need to call Matt and see if he's still planning on breeding her, I'd like to work another pup in the future out of her. Hopefully I can get up yalls way before long to go for a hunt. I was planning on calling yall about 2 weeks ago when I was off work, but the snow kind of messed that up. Good to hear from ya.

I haven't hunted with Sally lately but am hearing good reports from Mark and Matt when they take her. I have been mostly hunting Timber by himself and I have a young Red female I have been working with. We will get together for a hunt soon.

GO TO EAST VA.

We have still got 6 to 8 inches left here in the Blue ridge mts. of Floyd co., but we can drive 1 hour to Pittsylvania co. and they aint got no snow, and plenty of coons. The reason is Floyd co. is over 3000 ft. above sea level, the crest of the Blue ridge around here. We are all praying for spring around here.

Most of the snow is gone here now but still some around. It is just so dang muddy now. You have to pick and choose where to pull the truck into. But we are in alot better shape than some by the sounds of it. Been treeing a few though, they seem to be moving good around me anyways.

Its at least a 2 hr ride to East Va from where I live. I would go if I knew where I could hunt over there. Is there much national forest over there? I guess it wouldnt be too bad on the weekends but after I hunted all nite I would have a 2 hr ride back home.

NICE FOLKS

There is some public land in Franklin and Pittsylvania countys, and, if you stop and ask most of the dairy farmers, they are happy to let you hunt ,[ if you ask ]. People in this part of VA. remind me of what things were like here years ago, BEFORE THE BIG CITY YANKEES CAME.

Hey Rick, Ill give ya a holler in a few days if it looks like I will be off Friday or Saturday, I have a new place we could hit near Farmville(never been there, but I know he has a large dairy operation and has a huge swamp) or either up your way if it works for you. Man I hope this next storm misses us!!
