lol. wow. my friend, josh lives up that way and now i kno what hes talkin about. lol. i love the snow as far as how pretty it is but i hate it cuz you cant run your hounds in it. lol

BEAUTIFUL FARM! Bob commented on ALL THAT BEAUTIFUL LAND!
NOW... about that BEAUTIFUL HORSE! IS it a Freisian? I'm thinking so... It Is A Gorgeous one! Bob and I met many moons ago at horsie camp He was 10 and I was 13. I went on to a horse carreer, teaching, doing racehorse rehab etc... and Bob went off to life without horses... We re-met in 2000 after his first wife died I had been mildly brain injured Ironically going to get grain for the horses... not riding.... I had to retire but still had some horses boarding here then. I got to MAKE Bob get up on a half blind tough old school horse appy...LOL... It was FUN to watch Bob try to use his LEGS! BTW... he was a MUCH better rider than me- not quite as "pretty" equitation wise... but GOOD... He'd blush if he were seeing this... but he wont! LOL...

lol. thanks! i love our farm. i cant picture myself NOT living on a farm. lol. and he is a freisian. well, 3/4 freisian, 1/4 quarter horse. lol. hes my leisure horse. i woulda taken a pic of my barrel horse but he didnt want to come out of the warm barn. lol

LOL... I never did barrels... I was too much of a BABY...LOL! I LOVE watching barrel racing though!Those horses have to be SO SMART... don't blame him for not wanting to go out in the SNOW!

lol. not necisarrily smart, just capable. its up to the rider as much as the horse. the horse has to be strong, have good footing and love to run, not just run cuz it has to. but the rider has to keep his/her ballance or else it throws the horse out of wack and you take a fall. but its fun. challenging. i love it. hes great at it. hes one of the few that loves what he does. he runs the barrles with or without a rider. lol

GOTTA love a horse like that! I had a couple who used to go out in the ring and jump jumps. One of my old Equitation horses would stand there, make up a course, do it then stop think and do another...

The Good Old Days... lol.. I HATED to show...had comp. nerves BIGTIME. As an adult I got over that and went to one show and had a BLAST...then I got hurt but that ONE show was worth it.
BTW the Appy Bob got on with his dead legs... He was a western horse before English. I guess he did the stuff I can't recall the name of... (dumb brain!) where they do patterns and slides... etc... He also did barrels. Then his owner got him and did english also. Did Horse trials, did dressage etc. Didn't need ANY leg on him at all... breath and move one butt cheek he would respond...but he KNEW Bob had forgotten stuff...LOL... he was EVIL. That old horse was the last one here... We found a GREAT home for him where he could be safe once totally blind and his is over 30 now.... REALLY cool old guy. I used to love to hop on him bareback to loosen up my sore spine (I broke it at 15 on a trail ride-with Bob!)... Days like today when I'm stiff... I would PAY to feel Laddie Lope in the snow with the warm sun on his fuzzy winter fur! BUT it SURE would hurt my NECK! LOL...

sounds like great horses. i wish i jumped. my horse just isnt into it. i stick to runnin barrels and bending poles. lol. my freisian (the one in the photo) loves jumping, but he gets carried away with it and theres no stopping him, so i dont jump him very often. il get some pics up of me and my barrel horse. lol

GORGEOUS QH!

His head doing the barrells looks TONS like my old Eq. Horse. He was a BIG TALL LONG TB... Huge son of a gun... I"m only 4'11" but it worked. He had a VERY similar expression. YOUR horse IS that smart! I do miss them. My brain injury erased that part of my life. I still think they're so pretty and I can still look at pix and see if they are moving well etc... but I lost all the DESIRE... which is weird for a horse crazy person! It is better in the long run since I can't do the barn work or ride and my brain issues don't let me teach... THAT is the only part I TRULY miss...teaching. BUT... seeing your horses expression gives me a JOLT of memory of my old horse "Sam" and... a Tiny twinge of sorrow for not riding. Doesn't happen often... and that is a GOOD thing!
Speaking of teaching... Your balance in the middle of that horse thru that turn is pretty darned good! Hurts my spine even thinking of it! LOL... Bob looked and he said he'd be leaning right into the turn(taking the barrell with him! LOL)
