Any body compared the Pro head to a 28 volt?

I was wondering if anyone has compaired a pro head to differant lights. What do they cost? Where do you get them? I heard they were brighter than the other led lights and spred the light out over more of the tree.

I love the brightness of my 28 volt and how it lights up the whole tree BUT I have had it leave me in the dark. Not fun leading 2 hounds threw the thick woods in the dark.

If your talking about the rectangular LED Pro Head with the 4 lights you are talking about the best light on the market today. In my opinion nothing else comes close to it. May be some a little brighter, some weigh a little less, some cost less but all things considered it is the best out there.

okie, get yourself a backup light. i carry a small light that uses two AA cells. i carry an extra bulb and extra cells for it too. i also carry a 2nd backup light that uses two AAA cells. light, there is no substitute, when it's dark. don't you think? i hunt where there is no cellphone service. i take what i think i might need if i have to stay out all night in the woods.

Thanks but I didn't spend over $300.00 to have to go home early or hunt with a back up. I have a smart light I bought for the wife (that doesn't go much) that I keep in the truck if I can make it back to it. When I get out of the truck I want to be set till morning with a light bright enough to shine a big tree and cover as much of it as I can at a time.
I thought about the back up thing but I hunt by myself and if I get hurt I can use it to show someone were I am.
Thanks for the thought though.

I have a 28 volt and it says you can't use over a 24 volt. I would have to buy a new battery too. Do you know how the brightness compairs to the 24 or 28 volt lights?

Grady, hound does the ProHead compare to the SmartLight as far as brightness ?.............................I have the ProHead, but was thinking about getting a SmartLight or Valley-Creek Pro Light, but if they arent any brighter than the ProHead then I dont need one...............Thanks.............Tim

I wish I new but can't help you. The smart light is not as bright as my 28 volt but the biggest thing I don't like about it is you can't shine enough of the tree at one time. The beem is REAL tight. It is great for lasting for ever and not going dark on you and it is bright enough for pleasure and real handy. Just put it on and go around the house working on the truck or what ever. Just not as bright as I would want if I was being timed shineing a tree and doesn't cover enough of the tree at one time.

It looks identical to a 5100 head but has 4 bulbs in it and in my opinion dont compare to the origanal pro head!

I have a Predator, and the new Blazer head. I have used a K9 LED, and have hunted with a couple different guys using the pro head. Of these lights, the K9 impressed me most. I don't know if it is brighter than the prohead, was'nt able to make a side by side comparison, but it is brighter than the others I mentioned, and from what I've been told, will last a very long time. If I were you, I'ld wait until next year, Valley Creek are going to make an upgrade to their LED head that will raise it's output to 530 Lumens which will make it brighter than the current prohead.
As the technology becomes more readily available (cheaper), you are going to see more and more improvements on these LED lights.

I have the pro head and so does my Dad. He uses his with a 28 volt Cajun light. Neither of us would EVER go back to the other heads.

I think that is what I will do. Just wait becose there has been a lot come out just this year.
Another ? though you said they were comeing out with one that would put out 530 lumens. How many lumens is ones now putting out.
