Hunted with a buddy who had one last night and i liked it a lot, i can see it saving you a lot of walking going wrong ways and such, plus its fun to see how there moving and if there getting somewhere they shouldnt be. Looking into buying one, so where has everyone gotten theres and whats the price range? Thanks, Brandon.

I love mine when it works. In the three months I have owned one, it has been in use about two weeks. The rest of the time it is somewhere beteween here and Kansas. Last time I sent mine back was 6/12. Still don't have it back. It's great when it works. Garmin customer service needs some major rework.

Mines worked pretty good.Other than having to get a new charger and extra ant for the collar. Atleast with these old dc 20 collars. It seems like playing the lottery whether you get a good one or not! Jim from what I've saw.If you can get ahold of anybody to talk to.Customer service is good..Its the getting them on the phone part that sucks.

I've not had any trouble with mine. What seems to be messing up?

I have noticed if you don't hold it level it will not point you in the right direction.

I have never had any problem at all with the handheld. It is the best GPS I have ever used. The DC-20 collar unit is junk.

Bruce C posts on here and he sells Garmin units. He has been most helpful whenever I have had questions

Bruce Conkey also has the best prices I have found. I bought mine off of him and havent had any trouble with the exception of the rubber coming off of my DC20 collar antennal. Well I take that back I had trouble with the collar one night, it kept turning itself off and I would have to catch the dog and turn it back on. It only done it one night and I believe the problem was that I had washed it and soaked it in warm water that day to clean it. I left it outside to dry out the next day and it hasnt turned off since.

GARMIN

I returned, at a loss, a new 2-dog unit because of very poor performance. The DC20 collars had the long antenna that was aftermarket @ SETW but I doubt any thing will improve them. I do believe the hand unit is OK, & I hope the new DC30 collar works better.
4 dogs, 3 w/dc20 & 1 with marshall collar were turned due east, along a field w/woods on right, all dogs struck going east 1/4 mile then turned south about 300 yds then turned west coming 1/4 mile, making almost a perfect "U" coming back toward us & treed about 200 yds from us. We could hear the dogs great, but the Garmin only read to where the dogs turned south going into wooded cover, this was in early April when trees were just starting to get green. This was the 7th & last time Garmin was used by me. The buddy I was hunting with that was hooked on Garmin just sold his, he took a little longer to convince.
Although it was'nt needed, I checked the Marshall & pin-pointed the dogs.
I think the GPS will be instrumental for finding dogs, but the system now leaves a lot to to be desired.
I have owned just about all the telemetry being offered & until GPS (Garmin) works out the bugs I will continue to use Marshall exclusevly. I like the reception & love the LED lights.

I'm not impressed. When I can leave the Wildlife unit at home I might think about buy one.

It dont work worth a hoot in hills.

Garmin gets a thumbs up from me. pretty flat where i hunt but if you loose a dog with a garmin hes probably runnin something with longer legs than a coon.

I hunt in the hills and I love it. I never lose signal. I've had dogs leave the holler I was in and still be picking them up on the other side of the hill.
