hows your young dog doing for ya.
btt
hes doing good, all he needs now is some alone time which he will get this spring.
Hey ..he looks like the old Finley river dogs,,I really like him.
One thing i can't figure out is the Clover bred hounds are strong in Finley River blood but have a unique color pattern ,mainly Black & white,,anyone know what lines this color pattern came from.

click on the post called "single registration" then scroll down to oak ridges replys and read his story of the border collie crossing that went on , then form your own opinion of where this color came from.
I believe Lone Pine Jill or another dog prominent in the Clover dogs was at least 1/2 bluetick ( at least that is what I've been told). Hence the reason for so many black and white ticked up dogs.
The border collie I believe is from Whitey's bottom side, the Stylish side.
I believe many of the older Finley River hounds were open spotted. It wasn't until Spring Creek Rock and some others were introduced when the blanket backs became prevalent in the Finley River dogs.
I could be wrong but that's some of what I've gather over the years. I've never cared enough about color to really concern myself with it.
I tend to believe it simply because I've seen very, very few Calico or blue-eyed Wild Clover dogs unless there was a shot of Stylish blood as well. I've seen dozens of ticked up ones though.
This Joe dog is a nice looking hound. I have a Finley River x Clover x Bozo bitch that looks real similar to him.
