snow

Got hit with alot of snow here over night and still coming down.Im guessing it will be a good year for mushrooming usualy when we have a lot of snow in the winter the mushrooming is good here along the river in the cottonwood trees.

I didn't measure it,

but it seemed to be about 4-5 inchs deep, while taking care of the dogs. They sure didn't like walking in it, & didn't take them long to get back in the dog house. Looking at the radar, it shows the back edge coming across the Mississippi river, so it will be over shortly. They were predicting yesterday that we would get up to a foot. Glad they were wrong.

what has your temps been? I would take snow over cold any day, this week we have went for 33 above to 20 below in less than 24 hours then back up to 18 above. yesterday morning we had 18 below.

28 today, got into low single digits during the week, supposed to be up to 36 tomorrow and possibly near 50 by 1st of week, snow has stopped... looks like better weather coming, expect rain next week...

we have ten inches here in jacksonville. sure is fun to play around in. this was the first time in a long time we had enough snow to make it worth while getting the snowmobiles out.. me and a buddy are thinking of taking to dogs out tonight with the machines just to change things up a bit. may not hear a bark but it will be fun!!

ron i hope you can get your snowblower working. if not i guess you and ronnie will be putting your back into it..lol

coons might move tonight, may be a bit rough geting to a dog, course poor old gus like me can't afford a snowmobile-lo so would have to walk through that foot of snow... did get the snowblower going so made it a bit easier to move snow, my wife did most of it...

Posted by coonsmen on 02-02-2008 01:24 AM:

wife did it? wow.poor old gal. two grown men in the house hold and she is out plowing away..lol. yeah our 89 model snowmobile was exensive.... i think dad paid 150 total for it. still runs great. my brother in law lilved up in WI for quite some time and a year before moving back here he bought a really nice 02 skidoo. thing can flat fly in open country.
