Htx Titles Should Have To Come First
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE UKC MAKE IT MANDATORY THAT BEFORE A DOG CAN BE TITLED SHOW OR NITE CHAMPION IT SHOULD HAVE TO PROVE FIRST THAT IT CAN TREE A REAL LIVE COON BY ITSELF LETS SEE HOW MANY CAN DO IT OR LETS COME OUT WITH A NEW MAGAZINE TITLED HTX STUDS BET IT WONT BE SO MANY TO CHOSE FROM LOL

IS THAT THE ANSWER TO GETTING MORE PEOPLE TO HUNTS....
Is all of your dogs htx titled? If not why aren't they since you think it should be mandatory.

make them dogs tree coon by themselfs then you will see how many stud dogs are really out there. htx frist before comp. hunted sounds like a good way to go.

That's what the anti's and politicians do to us and yall don't like it ..... they think they know what's best for others and force it on them .
People die and have died so that nobody can force us to do stuff we don't want to ... and yall dig it when the shoe fits ...
Lead by example .... like minds will follow and the rest can be out of your hair .... anything else is gonna end badly.
ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN,IT WOULD KILL THE BIG SHOWS AND HUNTS AND THEREFORE KILL UKC.....WE NEED TO COME UP WITH A WAY TO GET MORE PEOPLE TO OUR LOCAL HUNTS....IF YOU GOT WHAT IT TAKES TO WIN WHO CARES WHAT THE OTHER GUY BRINGS...I DONT..
ONE OTHER THING WHAT WOULD IT BENIFIT ANYONE......
this thread is a joke. How many of your dogs could compete in Registered, Nitech or Grand nite cast with competition. All of my dogs have earned there titles honestly throw yours in a cast to where they have to compete then come talk to me.

Re: htx
quote:all i can say you guy's know that just because your dog can tree a coon by it's self don't mean crap when it come's to comp hunting. what will you say when you get beat then ?that me too dog beat me,wrong ....remember they treed a coon by there self, good old htx that is really a joke. the best dog can be beat on any given day.all you guy's are going to do is kill the coon club's. i guess it is easy for you guy's to only have to hunt against 3 dog's,intsead of 6or 7 cast. you all must have alot of money if you can afford to do all that running around. just because your dog passes the htx don't mean that you will ever make it a nite or grandnite. JMO, GO AHEAD AND KILL THE LOCAL COON CLUB'S. HTX REALLY SOUND'S LIKE THE WAY TO GO....

Another htx thread.... yay.
I have owned lots of dogs that could have been htx. champion that I would not breed or want a pup off of. htx means nothing to me.

I may be mistaken but I beleive it was last week on here anouncement about a GR NT CH HTX 6 or 7 had died.
I don't think anything should be required other than accurate papers to comp hunt a dog.
I pleasure hunt. I pack hunt my dogs mostly till one starts treeing a few times with another dog. Then I hunt it at least one drop by him/herself to let her do it all by herself. After she gets 4 or 5 by herself it's back in the pack because I have a good many dogs and I like pack races. I would not hesitate to put any one of my dogs that far along in an HTX hunt and dang well expect a pass.
If and I say IF I had a NTCH which I do not, I would expect to pass HTX no doubt about it.
I see HTX being scattered times and far off as limiting. The only way I would do it is my local club have one.
I agree titles is lazy way to choose a stud but I also believe a stud is any dog that has accurate papers and a fellow wants to breed his dog to. If she catches he is a stud pure and simple. My dogs have no titles but my males breed about a hlf dozen bitches a year because they have been hunted with. Mine are not too valuable to hunt.
To sumarize: I don't think HTX should be required but if an HTX is close by it probably says more about the dog that is scared to get entered than it does about the ones that pass the test.

its funny to me how alot of people claim that all these titles are fixed or fake, and i agree some of them are. i have a nt ch and will have a grand nt before summer is up god willing but this is how she wins cast, she gets by herself at least once and usually a few times gets hooked and has a coon to look at when the cast gets there. So anybody who claims that most of the titles are a fraud come on down and ill show you one that aint. as far as the htx being mandatory that wont happen there are not enough of them. ok im done ranting now
